Games and Launcher cannot save

I was playing DMC 1 and it worked fine for the first session I played it (4 hours or so, I made it up to Mission 15). Today, It will not save. Attempting to save in DMC 1 returns a "Save Failed!" message. DMC 3 is likewise affected, with an "Error: File cannot be saved." The Launcher doesn't save my options either. I imagine DMC 2 also has the problem. Attempting to delete my DMC 1 save made the menu bug with inputs not working properly fortunately I had a back up).

It appears to be an issue with writing to disk, but I cannot figure out why. I changed installation drives, made sure nothing was read-only, restarted my PC, verified files, tried administrator mode. I am now fully re-downloading, but I'm not sure that it will help. I don't believe it is an anti-virus matter either, as I received no notifications.

If anyone has had this problem or has a solution, I'm willing to listen.

I managed to fix it. For anyone that needs help:

All I needed to do was set up a second steam install, which I used to download the game again. This was on my SSD (which is not my C: drive). Perhaps reinstalling my c: drive steam install may have also worked.

The idea was that there would be a new save directory in this new steam install, which ended up allowing me to save.
