Since it's already upside down, try the script instead?

The video packs only works for a Proton 8 due to some kind of bug or regression. If you're using Proton 9 or higher, it doesn't need to flip them, but so far, they do need to be re-encoded for the audio to work properly.

yeah that was my experiences exactly the audio was trash so i figured i would use the mod anyway, but just doing the script reencode fixed the flip

I just checked the site's comments. So in Proton 9, the command should be:
for fmv in *.wmv; do echo "Transcoding $fmv"; ffmpeg -v quiet -stats -i $fmv ${fmv:0:-4}.mp4; rm -rf $fmv; mv -- ${fmv:0:-4}.mp4 $fmv; done

So you can still keep the original video files and use the original script but remove "-vf vflip" according to my own understanding.

Yes, I did exactly this on desktop Linux. You can check ProtonDB for similar results.

Edit: not sure what you meant by "keep the original video files," but the script as-is will not keep the original FMVs once completed, since the new ones need the same file name. Just making sure that's clear. If you meant that the Nexus Mods pack doesn't have to be downloaded, then you are right.

The script can also be modified to rename the originals instead of deleting them.
