dmc3 very hard difficulty

I'm currently on M20 in Very Hard, which took a ton of red orbs and a few days of time. What was y'all's experience with the higher difficulties on this game? Any tips?

vergil on mission 20 was my biggest issue, i had to practice until i could no damage him on higher diff, you need to use beowulf and kallina ann that's what got me through.

Beat Vergil on VH a few hours ago. Kalina Ann was able to stun him enough so I could break him out of DT and beat him. I'm on M7 in DMD now, thanks for the advice man

Yeah from what i remember i used beowulf and kalina ann on him on dmd, my exact strategy was:
killer bee + 5 normal hits + straight and then a kalina ann blast to chip away as much hp, after he went into normal dt i killer bee him a couple of times to get him out of it. You'll need to learn the timing of when it's best to attack, when he enters super dt with helm breakers and the like just avoid him until he runs out of his dt, don't worry about him gaining his health back because you just repeat the strategy and if you do it perfectly you can win without getting hit once. You can also use trickster for dodging or royal guard for blocking if you want, also the "killer bee + 5 normal hits + straight and then a kalina ann blast" can be even more effective because after you stagger him instead of shooting kalina ann you can charge up a straight to hit him a few more times before shooting him with kalina ann but the timing for that is hitting the charged straight after he blocks.
