title, is the quality of this collection (not dmc 2) good? also is there anything i can do against the infamous "jerma gets his house nuked" audio glitch?

The collection is serviceable but not perfect, due to the way PS2 effects are hard to transfer to other systems, there are some aspects like the ends of characters hair isn't transparent in DMC3. They also didn't have the finished Source code to DMC1, so they had to reassemble things for the HD collection version and they made a few mistakes along the way. These are things you'll never notice unless you saw the PS2 version and the HD version side by side, but it's how it is. If you want to see the games as they were original meant to be seen then PS2 emulation is better. mostly for DMC1.

That being said if you can improve the HD collection with the DDMK mod which adds tons of features to DMC3 like Style Switching, as well as additions to DMC1. It's not something i'd recommend for a first playthough but it's great when you want to expand on what the games are capable of.

i saw a mod that fixes the transparent hair issue, and i'm no stranger to having mods to fix a game. i'll probably just buy it, because it's difficult to emulate ps2 games

It's absolutely worth it, DMC1 is a great game and DMC3 is fantastic. I have the hair transparency fix mod, it works well, no issue. I recommend it because it really looks better.
