It's skippable, pretty much the only thing notable about it is the way it treats the two campaigns (in other DMC games, you simply replay the same levels with all playable characters, this one has major asset reuse, but it's not the exact same levels).

I find it very atmospheric and the movement as well as combat are fluid compared to the first game, so a big improvement. Dante can also perform a few new tricks. The only thing I found kinda lame so far is the intro, but it could be worse.

Yea, it's pointless honestly, I played it and unless you want to get 100% of achievements, there is no need to suffer through it.

Yes, skip it. A lot of people already mentioned how stale this game is, but from a continuity standpoint, it's practically irrelevant to the franchise. The brooding Dante you see in DMC2 never shows up again in future titles, Lucia doesn't matter outside of this game, etc. The only good thing this game does is make you appreciate the other games more.

Yes it is a terrible game, but at least you can manage to complete it in three hours or so.

play dmc3 first at least. it's the best one and is a prequel to 1 and 2. play 3 then 1 and check out 2 after that to go with the timeline

play them in order!! don't play dmc 3 first because it's fun when the mysteries in dmc 1 get shown in dmc 3 and you figure them out!! and don't skip dmc 2 it's pretty boring true but it's pretty easy to beat and it's only like 3 hours. Plus the high appreciation that you'll have for dmc 3 after finishing dmc 2 is incredible!
