DMC2 - Crashing on Startup

Some strange occurrence, I'll tell you.

For whatever reason, DMC1 and DMC3 will boot up normally and to the main menu screen. However, when I click on DMC2 - both Dante and Lucia's game mode, it'll "boot" into the EXE and then crash upon startup.

I verified my game files and adjusted to the borderless and windowed settings in the game options. I also searched through any threads that relate to DMC2 crashing. I'm making this thread to refresh the topic and see if anyone else is experiencing issues. Please and thank you.

Maybe this is Hideaki Itsuno channeling his energy into my computer to make sure I forget that the game exists in the first place. I don't care, Itsuno; I'm playing through all the games.

Had the same problem, totally froze my PC on boot of DMC2.

Fixed it by running dmc2.exe in Compatibility mode (Windows 7). Also Verified install just to be sure, then start the Launcher -> play in Windowed Mode (Borderless didn't work for me).

This launched DMC2 and I can just Alt+Enter to play in Fullscreen

go to dmc2.exe and set compatibility mode in WINDOWS VISTA
works here in any campaign: Dante and Lucia
