go there, ctrl+f, type Devil May Cry HD Collection and you should find those cloud saves. Download them and toss them to <Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\631510\remote
DMC HD Collection does not support Cloud Save. My save is still on the <Steam-folder>\userdata\<user-id>\631510\remote folder. When starting the game, the save file won't load.

Yea lol anyways I fixed it, I backup all my saves. Start a new game, save it to the location of the old save, then paste back and overwrite the files to the directory.
1. Make sure you create a BACKUP of your save files before uninstalling. Your saves are located at Steam\userdata\*YOUR STEAM ID*\631510\remote
2. When you feel like playing DMC again after reinstalling, Play any DMC game.
3. You'll notice your saved progresses are gone! create a new save state within the game.
4. Quit the game.
5. Go to your folder and then paste the backup saves to its original directory.
6. Open the game
Ik im a year late, but thank you i was so upset i thought i was going to have to regrind this game your goat dawg.
Ffs AzaiKang...THANK YOU! I've been looking all over for a solution. I've started playing DMC3 with a friend a year ago and we wanted to countinue playing months ago, but turns out DMCHD Collection does not have steam cloud support, which wasn't good news as I formatted my PC. We had to start all over. Since then I've formatted my PC a couple of times more, so good thing i backed up the save file again. Tomorrow he'll come back and we're gonna finish DMC3. If you hadn't been there to post your solution I may wouldn't have figured it out myself.
It gets removed if you uninstall the game, but your actual save files will still be intact.
You can view/edit that .vdf file with Notepad(++) and if it doesn't contain "dmc1.sav", "dmc2.sav", and/or "dmc3.sav" along with their parameters within that file, then you'll need to start these games and create a save state each or it won't recognise the existing save files.
I noticed that DMC1 seems to automatically update its save file upon launching the game so make sure you back up that game's save before launching it or you'll lose progress...
Like I did...
