One of the tricks to fighting Cerberus is to figure out that you can actually stun him.
The first thing you want to do is use Ebony & Ivory to destroy all the ice covering his body, and then instead of going straight for the heads, you want to attack his legs, after enough hits Cerberus will fall and be stunned, and then you can get a good number of hits on all 3 heads at once.
Also you can tell which attack Cerberus will use depending on which head is in the front, and if there is one particular attack you'd rather Cerberus not use, you can focus your attacks on that head to destroy it first.
Redoing the fight becomes a easier once you get more abilities and weapons later in the game, Starting from scratch in DMC3 is pretty tough, since the right Style, Devil Arm, and Gun combo can make a big difference depending on the boss.
Yeah I do play games so I know the heads were linked to attacks, but no DT you are busy trying to slap that hitbox that keeps moving extremley rapidly. I beat him after I cheated to get max HP... Even then I almost died. I wish the enemies weren't insane sponges. All of them take FOREVER. I think I'll play on easy because that might balance things out. I mean they can keep moving as fast as they do, attack the same patterns, have the same gimimicks, but you are just beating on even grunts for a long long time. In 1,4,and 5 you can down them pretty quickly enough to farm for green orbs if you need one.
That's a good trick, i did it when i was trying to level up my Gunslinger Style and spammed Spiral's Ricochet attack to kill Cerberus. But i would advise him to shoot him in the corners jump or roll to dodge the incoming ice attacks, jump backwards to avoid the headbutting attack and to avoid the running dash attack from Cerberus run to the opposite sides of his attack (Left or Right), Use your Rebellion to knock him down by attacking his legs after shooting out his heads's protections, then after knocking him down, use Rebellion's multiple attacks (recommend you to use Swordmaster) to take him down, rince and repeat, run around when the spikes fall from the floor and while on that attack avoid running on top of spots with ice around them because that's where the spikes fall on, after avoid this attack and repeating all that, you'll take him down.
On later playthroughs, use Rebellion and Agni & Rudra, his Elemental Weakness is Fire. As for the guns, use Ebony & Ivory and Spiral.
Most importantly, don't focus on killing him only, that's what got me killed in later difficulties.
Also i forgot to mention his ice breath attack in which he freezes the floor, if you are using Royal Guard you can block all his attacks and this one, in the moment the ice is about to freeze you, Royal Block, the only attack in which you can't block is the spikes falling from the ceiling.
After he takes too many damage he'll freeze back his armor back to where it was, destroy it with your guns and damage him again like the way i told you to previously.
