DMC3 Hidden Mission 4: Elevator
I used to do this on the PS2 each and everytime (maybe not on the first try, but on the second or third at least) but here it seems like i can't pull it off at all. Enemies keep blocking for ages against Agni and Rudra with their tiny fkn stick scythe, making it really hard to deal dmg. Pushing them off while they block is also fairly hard because they seem to mold with the edge of the elevator itself.

So anyone got some tips on that?

You just have to kill them really fast, it's posible on normal but you can play the mission on easy, so they die faster. also you can come back when you have DT and use Devil Trigger explosion to wipe them out even faster.

If they block jump behind and hit their backs or switch to one that isn't blocking.

Gunslinger style + Shotgun as soon as they appear on screen. It's not that difficult.

^ That's amazing. I'll definitely be doing that as well.

that cheese is hilarious. i think the reason i gave up was the damn barriers the enemies have on them. i don't recall if this is before or after the trials, but it was there the game demonstrated that those barriers make enemies invulnerable, right? so you have to find a way to push them back, and not really worry about killing them. or that cheese. that's really funny. heh and i thought i had this game figured out.

I love how time and time again, I'm learning new things over a decade later.

OG way to cheese it. Glad to see your'e showing new folk how to do it, I love that trick.

There's another way to cheese it. This game has a lag cancel mechanic you can use that involves Ebony and Ivory. What you do is you can use one shot of Ebony and Ivory to cancel the lag of some really sluggish moves.

You know how with Kalina Ann when you fire with it there's that really long lag at the end? What you do is you fire Kalina Ann, switch quickly to E&I, fire once, then switch quickly back to Kalina Ann to rapid fire it.

By using this switch gun cancel you can fire off Kalina Ann really fast, and Kalina Ann does a LOT of stun/stagger - i.e. it helps you knock those guys off the platform.

You can use this trick to make some moves spammable. For example Agni and Rudra has an air move called Aerial Cross (jump, hit Triangle). Normally when you do it you fall to the ground, but you can cancel the lag of the move (hit square after doing the move), which resets your air options.

So you can jump, air melee (Aerial Cross), fire E&I once, air melee, fire E&I once, etc. all the way down. This tactic is really effective for certain enemies.

There's a variant of this you can do with Royal Guard.

Fire Kalina Ann, Royal Guard (hit Circle) really quick at the end lag after firing it (i.e. tap it) Then immediately fire Kalina Ann again, repeat ad nauseam.

I currently use SM with Reb/A&R to keep things in air with combos, best working when enemies are cornered. I usually do the 3 hit combo with Reb, knock them up, fully use the Aerial from SM for Reb, switch to A&R and do the SM Aerial and before it would get to the downward thing shoot a bit (as you said) and do the standard Aerial. Seems a little much on paper, but it does the job most of the time.

While as Vergil you might be able to use Trick Up in place of Wall Hike but it's a lot tricker to do properly. This is one more exploit you can use, Judgement Cut usually knocks back everything even if they're DT'd but they can still block it sometimes. Naturally you can also use DTE to knock them back but it's an unviable strategy unless you have Super Corrupt Vergil. The safest way might be using Round Trip to lock them in place first, then Judgement Cut, being careful that you're not too close to the edge of the platform and fall off when Vergil steps back.

Super duper last resort: beat DMD mode then come back on Heaven & Hell mode and kill everything with a single hit.
