Report a translation problem
It wouldn't be so bad if that were the first game, then improved with 1 and followed up with 3, but going in order it just feels out of place and poorly done.
*also, unless I'm mistaken, the events of DMC2 have no impact/reference in the rest of the series at all.
What a fat shame, honestly.
It only gets mentioned because they had to do something to retcon parts of DMC2 after they shuffled it's position.
The lore for DMC2 is useless when it comes to the games. Capcom barely even acknowledged DMC2 in the DMC5 recap. Other games at least got some short description of what happened, but when DMC2 came in the recap it basically just said "Dante was fighting demons and shiet".

Why would you play a game you hate for achievements?
The Devil May Cry Anime really reminds me of this game.
Now I would not do that to my self. Replayed the game once when the collection came out.
