Has anyone attempted to do the "no guns" playthrough of DMC 2 yet?

I've seen so many masochists playing games while adding stupid rules which only made the game more tedious, and I'm surprised that nobody tried to play through DMC 2 without firearms, or at least upload a footage of it.


Sadly, I do not have the patience to air kick helicopters, talking heads and others while chasing around wolves, so did anyone here manage to beat it this way?

Well That type of playthough would proably be easiest with Trish since she has DMC1's Round Trip, and her guns aren't particular great anyway,
The Lucia camapin though would be almost imposible due to the Fish boss, that boss is big enough pain to fight the normal way let alone with only melee attacks.

Either you have to be completely insane and have all the spare time in the world to melee it to death (which is easily the worst move in the whole game), or have a truckload of Devil Stars and spam the armageddon/falling stars or whatever it's called move.

Maybe TAS video? I'm not sure if dmc2 have TAS video but dmc3 is one hell popular with TAS.

Doubt it, finding speedruns or any combo videos of DMC 2 is already hard, I don't think there's a single TAS out there.

also, I really liked DMC2.
melee is really useful on harder difficulties.

I meant going full melee without firearms on bosses.

I don't think it's possible since some bosses require gun attacks to hit in certain stages. Plus this game doesn't have round trip apart from that pathetic devil trigger attack.

It is, you just have to do the backflip kick loop. Helicopter also has a weak spot which makes you deal more damage, but the process is still tedious.

Okay, heli down after like an hour of dying lol, I get hit by his rotor and fall all the way down the building, then he just keeps firing his rockets and I can't see them cuz camera is ass then I die.

Okay, just defeated the final boss, overall was pretty fun but attacking flying enemies sucked ass.
