is it me or is dmc 2 bad?

meanwhile secound one has no diversity?But I got stuck in the bridge part and gave up, should I give another try to just skip and go to dmc 3?

No, it's not you. Everyone is in unanimous agreement that the game sucks.

If you don't feel like slogging through it, just skip it and go to DMC3. You're not missing out on much.

I wouldn't say this game really sucks, but it's definitely the worst in the series. Wayyyy too easy and this annoying camera lock. Only 2-3 things are challenging and it's only on DMD. If you want a quick recipe to finish the game then:
Collect orbs -> Upgrade your E&1 maximally -> Hold "square" (ps) / "x" (xbox) against everything -> you're done.

Diversity in weapons in dmc1? Lol yeah, you got a sword, then another one, then another sword...oh yeah, and ifrit gloves.

As for guns - there is almost the same diversity in dmc2.
Anyway, weakest dmc2 is the weakest dmc, but still not that horrible of a game. It's short and easy, so no harm in completing it.

Generally speaking, DMC2 is bad.
Although it's bad, it's not a garbage.
After all the Devil Hearts system and some movement are actually a prototype for DMC3, and the design and music are decent.
At least is playable.

Here are some suggestion
If you just want to know DMC2's story and game, then just use your guns and 'shoot to work'. It will be finished very quickly.
If you want to enjoy the game.....such as 'I want to finish the game on DMD difficulty.' or 'I want to complete the achievements.' then, it might be quite boring, or it might be interesting(depend on your opinion),, But is still OK.
If you want to torture yourself.....then just try to beat DMC2 on DMD difficulty with all S Rank. Good Luck :3

I too wondered this. Just Beat 1 last night and moved to 2 to day and played up to the chopper. Nothing in this game even seems to try to fight back. Hell the chopper was just stand in one spot an hold X till it dies.

DMC2 is definitely the weakest game in this collection by far. Lots of questionable design decisions, but I didn't hate it, just found it thoroughly mediocre. I think there's some enjoyment to be had, but it can safely be skipped because although canon, every other game in the series ignores it.

Once you're done with the rest and craving some more DMC though, I think it's at least worth one playthrough with both characters. Just so you can say you've beaten them all if nothing else.

DMC2 was the first Devil May Cry I ever played and I liked it. I don't think it's a bad game, and I like some mechanics in that game (amulet for example). But, I agree with you : camera lock is horrible and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating (example : when you try to destroy the statue in which are the second shooting weapon of Lucia, and when an Agonofinis remains in the previous floor...), the game is way too easy and bosses/enemies like Infested Tank or Infested Chopper are boring to defeat. But, I like this game too, surely because it was the first DMC I ever played, but yeah I think it's the worth DMC of the serie.

DMC2 -> too easy, maybe boring and frustrating
DMC -> maybe frustrating because of the difficulty of this one (die and retry will be pretty common)
DMC3SE -> To me (and to lots of people), the best of the serie (and the one I played the most [hundreds of hours played on the PS2])
