Unfortunately being robbed of your DT and Styles makes the fight allot harder since it's the only time you fight with Vergil and you don't really get to practice controlling two characters move sets at the same time.
I actually wish it would have been too easy as opposed to anything else. Vergil and Dante together should feel more powerful than a solo Dante.
Try without using items. its more rewarding ;)
Thought it also slows down the level due to being unable to "burst" the dt at higher levels of play.
If you're using summoned swords as you're attacking you'll do huge damage against anything. As far as t he eels/dolphins/whatever I just keep spamming the jump cut which has a wide attack area and is one of Vergil's strongest attacks. I still get hit but only very little and it takes them out quite quickly.
That's why I use items and even then that's only because of Arkham and his attacks killing you in TWO HITS with a nearly maxed out lifebar. Even on DMD they do very little damage (I would know, I've completed DMD as Vergil)
