The blur effect is nice and all, but one missing effect won't kill the game. It's an absolutely extraordinary series, and I'd recommend it without hesitation.
Unlike the last port, this collection generally runs without problems-- if you've been following the forums, you'll know that it actually runs TOO well for some of us ;)
This is not a perfect reproduction of the game. Some effects are missing here and there, but honestly I didn't even noticed it before someone told me. Personnaly, I didn't like some of those effects, so I don't mind at all, for the most part.
I'll just recommend to make sure you have a DirectX 11 GPU and a CPU not too old. It's not a matter of power, it's a matter of compatibility. DirectX 10 GPUs cannot run those games and AMD Phenoms/Athlon can't start DMC1.
A GT 120 won't even launch the game (DX10 only and not even that good to begin with), while a Core 2 Quad @ 2.33 GHz and R7 360 can plow through the game without a single framerate drop at 1920x1080.
As mentioned, DMC1 appears to be unplayable on Phenoms. I sent something to Capcom about it, but no word yet on a patch.
The menus are unchanged, 4:3 pillarboxed. Only the gamplay and in engine cutscenes are 16:9.
I'm playing at 4k/60 fps, no performance issues at all.
I play on an FX 8300 and R9 280 normally. That's a slightly better processor and a much stronger graphics card; I can run the game in 4K.
On my Core 2 Quad (weaker than FX 6300) and R7 360 (basically the same as your card, but AMD), the game runs at 1920x1080 with no framerate drops at all. 4K is out of reach, though.
To answer your question about widescreen, all gameplay and in-engine cutscenes are in 16:9. Prerendered cutscenes and many UI elements (menus and such) will be in pillarboxed 4:3.
