Anyway its L1+L2+R1+R2 + D-pad Right/Down + Left analog Up/left on the title screen
Why jump through hoops to enjoy the game? Progression isn't fun for everyone.
Well, naturally. If you enjoy Trickster, you have to grind an absurd amount of time to fully make use of it. That would be jumping through a hoop. You must do it, if you want to fully enjoy Trickster.
Easy to disprove. I'm good at DmC, but it's an absolute pain to start a new game.
Games are just a support to have fun. The way you achieve it is up to you only.
This only applies on single player games, of course.
"You can use the cheat at the DMC2 start screen to unlock hard right away.
Does not effect saves or Achievements at all. I have tested it.
Here's the cheat.
Dante and Lucia's Diesel Costume
Play the First Mission and Save. Restart your game and at the ''Press Start Button Screen'', Press L3, R3, L1, R1, L2, R2, L3, R3. If you did it right, then you should hear a sound. Now select ''Load Game'' and you should be able to pick the Diesel Costume for whichever character you did the code for by Pressing R1 or L1 on the Load Screen.
It doesn't just unlock the outfits but hard mode has well."
Tested it, but it just unlocks the Diesel costume, and possibly the level select if that was originally locked away.
The only selectable difficulty is still Normal.
Well, I didn't use that cheat, but I finished the game once and I can't change the difficulty in the select mission screen too. I don't remember if I have to finish the game with Lucia first.
I'm sure the cheat must help. I used it on the PS3, and I beat DMD without ever touching Lucia. Heck, I may play her campaign on the PC for the first time ever...

doesn't unlock hard for me, just diesel costumes
Anyway, if you absolutely NEED to farm for for EXP to level up all the Styles, you can just keep killing bosses as they all give you 30k points each. So just reload M18 on Normal or Easy and you'll be done faster than you think.
On the subject of being good at the game... if you can't play the game without any ugprades, maybe you're just not as familliar with each weapon as you thought you were when fully upgraded. People have beaten the game on DMD from a new game without upgrading a single thing, not even levelling up Styles. I've personally never accomplished that myself, but playing the game without any upgrades whatsoever doesn't feel unfun at all for me. Every weapon is well balanced even without the extra moves, upgrading guns only gives a damage boost (except for Artemis) and every weapon has all combo strings by default.
