DMC3 in HD collection better than standalone earlier PC release?
The first PC port of DMC3 had several subtle graphics issues like lighting not being console-equivalent and other problems (which apparently still exist in the standalone version sold on Steam). Is the port in this HD collection a better one or just the previous PC version put in?

Yes.
But if you search a little in these forums, you'll see mixed opinions about this.

Way better - Solid and Stable FPS, Xbox360 and Xbox one controllers support, tho the only con i saw is blur effect, which you can't turn off, but i guess with HEX editing you can turn it off - just like in DMC4 SE =)

that port was dire and should be illegal to sell

Without Style Switcher, no for sure, since it fixes everything and adds a ton. Let's hope there aren't any issues with that port, cause SS is coming to HD collection.

The infamous DMC3SE PC port works great with mods. You can disable blur and fog filters. Run the game in any resolution you want to. 16:9 and 16:10 support. 144hz support. Ability to switch styles on the fly like in DMC4. Ability to switch between all the 10 weapons. Customizable controls. Working XBOX360 button prompts. High quality music. Boss rush mode. Ability to choose invidual levels and maps. And more.

Capcom cant even compete with some random modder who does this on his free time. And yet you're ready to suck some big corporation ♥♥♥♥.
