Question on DMC3's Royal Guard, please?
How many Just Guards (the perfect no-dmg blocks) do I need to fully charge up the Release? Wanna try it out but i'm curious.

Depends on the amount of damage the attack you justguard is.

This. The RG energy you get from a perfect parry depends on the incoming attack and you can see how much you've stocked up in the Style icon next to the HP meter. The three little green pearls will start flashing and eventually stay bright when the RG meter is full. Back in the day we used to call this RG energy "Rage" but it's just a term coined by the community and is not an official name.

So anyway it may sound complicated but t's not. On DMD you can pretty much parry anything 6 times and you'll have full "Rage".

As a side note, having Beowulf equipped slightly increases Just Release damage and being DT'd increases it even more.

Thank you very much for the information. Although I have to admit, I find Beowulf a bit "weird" to use after loving DMC1's Ifrit.

I know what you mean. Beowulf is a pretty good weapon but feels very lightweight compared to Ifrit, which is still the best gauntlet weapon in the series, in my opinion. It just feels so good to use, the crackly, deep, strong sound of fire with every action you take, that build up when you charge up your punches, Kick13 is freaking awesome; Rolling Blaze, Inferno, Meteor, everything's so much better than their equivalents in later games.

However, Beowulf has Hyperfist, Rising Dragon, Real Impact and The Hammer, all of which are great compliments for the kind of weapon it is.

Agreed, it's just I personally feel that Beowulf's just clunky compared to Ifrit is all. The moves themselves are fine, just the combo timings are kinda offbeat.

Hmm if you're playing DMC3 with Turbo mode off, then yes, the timings do feel a bit too slow compared to Ifrit.
