Need help exporting

Finished maps need to be exported to different paint-like programs, i get that... Illwinter just doesnt do it. I have Photoshop, Paint and recently added Gimp 2 as 'paint' programs.
Illwinter still refuses to recognise them or open then as i export....it does however say he has opened the file in a different window (didnt though, it's lying)

What gives? anyone have the same issue or a sollution?

While I don't have this problem (it exports just fine to GIMP 2.8 for me)... could you not just export as png, and then open it manually in a paint program?
