Adding text to maps.
Title explains everything, It would be nice if we could add text to maps. Doesn't need to be anything fancy. I would just like to lable my maps with a number that I can see.

I also desire this functionality.

Awesome! I only just bought it, so haven't even opened program yet. But that's great news! :)

Nice! But how do you select/move the text once it's on the map?

Haven't found a way. I delete it and write it again, which is a little sad...

Ideally, ctrl-rightclick would pick it up like it does with icons, and maybe open the edit window at the same time? That's the only option I can think of which would fit with the current UI.

Might be a bit late to this party, but you guys might find it easier to edit the map via a paint program and add the text manually. I use paintnet, with an outline feature, so I can write super visible text regardless of the texture I'm writing over. Also, you can mess with the transparency, so the text becomes less obnoxious if required.

As for the text feature currently in the app, it's simple and gets the job done, but as mentioned by Darloth it is lacking.

I have tried now for over an hour to place text on a map. No idea how to do it. Can anyone explain please?

Here's a step by step for how I got text on a map:

1. open the program and get to a map
2. from the toolbar on the right, click the Text tool
3. Left-click somewhere on the map
4. Enter the text and set colour and stuff. I left it all at default and it seemed to work, but a few options worked too.
5. Press OK, text appears on map.

Adding text automatically shows all text, but you -can- hide it with ctrl-T in the text tool so check it hasn't been hidden maybe?

If you're doing something similar to this and it's not working, then you probably need to raise a bug report.
