Sadly, this game and its sequel, Dreamfall Chapters, are like a scam. They start off with great, intriguing stories but end up boring, wasting our time. I'll explain. The first region we see is beautiful... except that the places we actually walk around in are very cramped. We hear about a mystery that the girl's friend is involved in, but don't get any real details. The second region is ugly... intentionally ugly. It's a hobo neighborhood. There is slightly more info about the mystery and a separate story about an event from the past. Next, we get to go to somewhere quite different and pretty. Then, the game makes us do boring fetch quest nonsense for information that the first person we talked to could have told us. It's like a scam. The game goes on like this. In fact, the ending doesn't actually satisfy many of the deep emotional interests in the story. The sequel is no different. The story starts off as a dramatic continuation of this one, and then quickly shoves it under a rug and starts getting us into politics. ??? The people behind these games apparently think like scammers. I can't recommend them. BTW, I have a history of playing this game on the Xbox back in that era, so my play time is certainly off.
