One thing that may actually help those of us with this issue is to be able to force it to fullscreen upon launch which would allow us to play even if not in a small window off to the side like most Clickers.
Any other advice I have seen I couldn't make heads or tails of in the tech forums since they weren't specific about what or where the options that they were changing were :P
No other solutions have been suggested in the other such posts, I just went hunting and was the first to post one I think.
I updated flash on every browser on this laptop. I updated the display drivers. I even grabbed a flash projector program and tried to play the swf file of the game, and it didn't work, though the way it instantly closes makes me think that's an anti-piracy measure.
My weak google-fu leads me to believe it's something about how the game renders that doesn't play well with certain systems. For instance, the laptop I'm using (because my tower's mobo went out) is 32-bit windows 7 and it barely makes the game's minimum requirements.
I don't think it can be fixed on our end. I think it'll have to be patched. There was a flash developer forum talking about the error being caused by the render mode not being set to direct, but they were talking about flash apps running on mobile, admittedly.
The best info I have comes from an Adobe help page on Stage3D, which I assume this game uses.
https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/stage3d-unsupported-chipsets-drivers-flash.html#main_Assessing_your_current_GPU
If your drivers too old, Stage3D won't be supported, but the basic rundown is that your drivers have to be from after 2010. Mine are from 2013, so even that doesn't apply to me, but it might to you. It might just be the chipset. There's a help topic on the infectonator forum where it happened to someone. When they went to the full version, the game stopped working for them.
TL;DR Either the game needs patched, or your gpu is too old.
Most of what I found referred to flash games on mobile as well. Others might have been talking about flash games in browsers hence the Firefox issue, but nothing that really would relate to a Steam game.
Funny enough I would have no issue if the game just bogged everything down so much that my comp was unable to run it in a stable fashion, Simply getting this error is far more aggravating.
That said, the last one was in flash. So this one being in flash isn't surprising. The main thing I'm hoping for is they only have to make a small change in the rendering mode, or make a low version without stage3D for older computers. If not, we might have to wait a while.
Just thought I would add that I am using a desktop PC with an i7 4770K and GTX 1080 with the latest driver so it's not just laptop or old driver thing.
Works on my desktop (high-end gaming) but can't launch on my Lenovo Ideapad with Intel HD 620 video. Getting context3d not available error.
This card plays most old games. Diablo 3 and WoW runs well.
Any plans to solve this? Is this an issue on dev end due being an early access title?
I've stated in my previous post that my GPU is Intel HD 620. And yes, I have the last drivers.
It's a pretty good video card from Lenovo IdeaPad laptop line which is pretty common. The card can run many games in full hd with low to mid settings.
Diablo 3, LoL, DOTA2, Overwatch, WoW, etc.
In my opinnion, the nature of Clicker games is something that suggest playing on low spec systems. I'll probably run it at work on my laptop, not at home on my main gaming rig :)
