You've paid 28 dollar to the devs.
Devs received 28 dollars
And you've paid 2 dollars to paypal for using their service.
Paypal receive 2 dollars
...Now tell me, why would the devs refund you something that they didn't receive?
Once you have done that and received their feedback you can come back and claim that they 'cheated' you.
If you look at the website where they talk about the refund (https://www.clickerheroes2.com/paytowin.php) it is not clear how they would handle/are handling payment processing fees or if they even thought about that.
The only statement there is "We chose paid upfront, for $29.99 (fully refundable for a year after launch) [...]". That does not address those fees one way or the other.
PS: For anyone reading the statement, please keep in mind that only people who bought the game before 16.07.2018 are eligible for the above refund option through Playsaurus themselves. If you did buy after that day you can only use the steam refund policy which is tied to having less than two hours of playtime and I think two weeks after buying.
I payed 30$ and playsaurus has stated in their policies, that until 1 year after release there will be a FULL refund, which is 30$ - They also refunded 30$ but paypal took 1.6$ of it as fee. Which is also stated in their policies, that playsaurus will ALSO refund the non refundable paypal processing fee.
Nevertheless, this matter is cleared after a few shots with the Support and telling them, that this clearly is against their policies and is called a scam if they do not refund the paypal processing fees as stated in their terms of policy.
Got the full refund of 30$ now
I know some people may let companies scam them, but I am definitely not one of them and it is not about my freakin 1.6$ .. its about the probably 3000$ from over 1500 refunds worldwide or even more.
Companies should hold their own terms of policies!
Yes i did this before, they just told me, that it was a missunderstanding and only the buy fees of paypal where ment.
After telling them, that I will make this public in reddit and steam they replied back 2 days after with the actual full refund ...
Guess they were afraid of the reddit post, which clearly reaches out to a very big player base and is a very bad reputation
wow you are a massive ♥♥♥♥.
Might be a decent move of you to now update the title, as you got your full refund.
In the end you very clearly state in your opening post that they do explicitely mention the paypal fees...we have not seen any evidence of this so I am still not sure if you just made that up.
Not to say that "full refund" on its own should already mean that the full amount gets back to you, I am with you on that.
Also people might consider other payment options for the future if paypal is taking such a huge margin off a transfer like this. I am not sure if credit card has lower fees though, maybe someone with some expertise on that issue can weigh in on that.
Paypal takes 3.4% of the value + 0.33 dollars
I just want to apologize again for the situation, it was handled poorly on my end.
We weren't trying to "scam" people out of a PayPal fee that we said we would pay. We were just under the impression that the only Paypal fee was the one our end. We've updated the way we do refunds now to also include this fee for those that pre-ordered the game.
