I wanted to play CH 2 again (i was already playing one day after the reset). Today it wantet to update for 1.7 gb. But it wont do it because there is a virus/trojan in this update
(UDS:DangerousObject.Multi.Generic).

Did anyone have the same problem and what is this thing exactly? I did use google and this is not something funny to have on the pc!

This threat is extremely harmful, and can make many files useless. The virus can also have an effect on the reinstalled programs, causing them to stop responding. What's worse, this malware can secretly track users' online sessions and use their secret data and passwords for illicit purposes.

What AV are you using? as I also downloaded the lastest update, and no issues.

Are you using Norton? as that is really bad for detecting false positives.

This is a known issue - I used to get the same with Mcafee back in the earlier versions. It's a false positive.

if you think a game like this has virus in it dunno what to tell ya man, most likely a false positive, its super hard to get it tested for all virus scanners out there at once. But keep mentionining which scanner does it and you can help the devs :D

Kaspersky and Norton are notorious for false positives. Especially when they are scanning files that they haven't seen before (like major video game updates on day 1 of a patch).

I've seen threads like this after a patch day a lot on Steam and on game forums outside of Steam and 8 out of 10 users were using those two AVs.

If you really think there's a virus, then just wait until your AV has definitions for the new files and you'll see if the issue is real or not (In game updates it's in 99.999% certainty not real).
