Setup Mordhau Server via g-portal
Hey guys,
I've just rented a server via g-portal, but i have no idea how to operate or how to join it. I did the steps mentioned in the "tutorial" and downloaded filezilla and connected it to the server on g-portal's website, but what now?
Does someone have the know-how and can help me?
cheers,
Finn

This would be best left up to the support and FAQ sections of g-portal's website, however this is simple enough that I can probably answer you anyways?

Filezilla is an FTP (file-transfer-protocol) client/application, this lets you modify files on your serverside, for example in the future this may include modding and whatnot. This isn't particularly useful to us at the current time, obviously.

You should be able to find your server by the title using the browser, if this isn't working I would recommend using Steam's built-in server browser to favorite your own server. You have the IP for it on their website, it should look like this -- XX.XX.X.XX:XXX15 -- Or similar. Take note of the '15' at the end, this should be the games query port; basically the one you need to be able to join.

All that server browser nonsense can be found in the steam app you are probably reading this in, top left corner. View>Servers>Favorites>Add A Server

As far as operation of the server goes? There's no RCON or anything yet so I guess you are able to ban people, change the map, and stuff like that when you are connected to the server and have yourself set up as the administrator.

So basically you'll tell people how to make their own decisions but not give them any guidance as to why?
