What's the "new player" experience like?

I'm not really a new player, I played this a bit when released but it's been so long since I've played that I'm basically a new player again. Is it worth coming back to the game these days? Or are the only players left just sweats?

I am a new player and I think the game is fun, even if it is dying.

There are times when I am going for achievements that required me to disarm opponents or get five kills by trample, and I have people telling me how to play because I am going for these achievements rather than playing to win.

Even so, it is a fun game.

Not sure what you are referring to, but there's still folks that stand in the middle of the battlefield and play on their lutes. To me, these seem like funny memers and free achievement progress.

the best thing to do when coming back is to never open your scoreboard and check kd, will spoil your mood. Just keep going and you'll get back into the rhythm. it is still a very fun game just play how you want and NEVER look at scoreboard.

I only ever reached intermediate skill level in this game. It gets less fun by the month because the animation breaks just keep getting worse. Been seeing completely stationary thrusts that don't look like an attack. Feels like the intended combat is long dead and now it's a contest to see who can make the most jacked up attacks. At this point I just screw around with bear traps and javelins.

sure but it's a specie almost extinct; back then you had almost 25% of the teams being lutins with sugarcanes during the christmas event, laughing at each other in a circle now compare it to today's event and the difference is night and day
hell i used to do fightclubs with my toolbox and i would have 10+ players from both teams joining in and not ruining it, nowadays if I try to setup one my head immediately gets chopped off
