Ever since december I get frequent CDTs. More recently its every 3-5 minutes, making the game utterly unplayable. The error message always is the same:

Fatal error: [File:Unknown] [Line: 200] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')

My hardware is fine, Mordhau is the only game in 150+ that crashes. When I can run the game I get steady 100 fps (well, except in Castello ofc). Anybody else experiencing this?

What graphics card do you have?

Geforce GTX 1080 - runs without apparent problems in other games. I already reduced settings to normal/low, did not really change anything for better or worse.

Same error is happening on lots off GPUs and with other games. Overclocked CPUs or the game not being set up properly for current drivers are possible causes.

I get the same crash but not always.

Yeah, I researched a bit and apparently this is a bug that happens quite often for Unreal 4 engine games in combination with more recent (> 5 years old) nVidia GPUs. So my guess is even Mordhau devs are out of luck on this one and have to wait for a fix for the engine - if there ever will be one. This is a real bummer, getting crashed out of a game when you are the noble not only sucks for you but the entire team...

I keep my GPU drivers and really my entire system up-to-date, not just for gaming considerations. DirectX was a good hint, some players might use an outdated reason. I will not disable my sound card though - Mordhau without the voice taunts is only 30% the fun ;-) I will try the Registry Keys, hope they might help. Thanks!

I have a 5700 XT with the same crash, unable to solve it so far!

Have you tried a clean GPU driver install using DDU? Might be worth trying before you risk ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with your registry.
