i just downloaded patch and now i cant even play the game, any tips ?

Unable to connect to the backend:
-there's a compatibility issue with ice lake cpus, a workaround is in this link:

-Being behind a VPN,
-Being in a country that blocks Microsoft Azure servers (such as Turkey),
-having your system time zone out of sync. watch this vid:

-possibly the weekly steam maintenance
are all issues that can cause this

you can also try starting steam as admin.

What is the problem exactly? Do you get the same message "Failed to connect to the backend service"?

I am also getting the "failed to connect to the backend service" message. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, sync'd time, ran steam as an admin, and made sure that mordhau is allowed through my firewall. Starting to think i'm SOL.

Make sure Mordhau is allowed by your firewall.

After every update/hotfix you gotta allow Mordhau in your firewall. Atleast with Bullguard. If I don't I also get the "Failed to connect to backend"

idk what to do, checked the time settings, started steam as admin, restarted the game and steam multiple times.
