I am thankful this game is dying.
I have to give credit where its due, but the devs really tried their hardest not to make this game another Chivalry clone where it suffers the same exact problems.

But, honestly, they didn't do a great job at it and as much as you hide behinds walls of "lmao get good xddd", you have seen the extent of malignant animation manipulations executed in any scenario. You can get decent at this game and still realize it is fundamentally a mess and not bother stooping down the lows what the Chivalry sweats do.

When you learn about Triternion's structure, it is really inefficient at sustaining a game like this longterm. They are indie developers that were overly ambitious, AKA bitten more than they can chew. If anything, I feel this game would've received more consistent updates if all of the developers were situated in a local environment and hired more professional game devs to bolster the game's health.

Alas, we did not get the game sane Chiv fans wanted, and slowly but surely it is morphing into the same rotten experience that killed Chivalry's playerbase. I'm curious if such players that are poisoning this game are going to still enjoy it when it reaches down to 500 players, and the entirety of the players are merely like them to the point that, their moves have become utterly predictable to each others that duels are nothing more than stamina attrition.

So yeah, like it or not, the game is under a withering state due to yes, Chivalry players not having the respectable decency to spread their animation AIDS to the game's bloodstream and an overly ambitious team of fragmented developers. Enjoy this game while it lasts.

-Chambering is the only mechanic that take some skill in this game because drags and accels could be very unreadable as i talked about before. So chambers are in a weird position. They are harder to execute than any other mechanic in the game yet they aren't that reliable. I am not saying they are useless entirely but i think they should reward people that use them skillfully more.

You can't read animations, but how comes other players can ? Drags can be hard to read, it needs practice. But if you already can't read an accel... xD
You claim animations are unreadable to avoid recognising your lack of skill.

As for you, while you have worded yourself better than the other guy, you are still delusional. You can't think objectively without sounding overly defensive towards this game. Most of your refutes are overly defensive because you comfort yourself with the idea that people aren't as good as you think at this game. I am fairly decent for someone who play this game casually because i also used to play Chiv a lot when i was younger. I know what i am talking about and i try to be as objective as possible when listing these flaws. Just because you are okay with the shortcomings of the game doesn't mean people are obligated to accept the game as it is now. Have a good night/day.

How is he delusional ? Because he appreciates the game ?
He can't think objectively because he disagrees with you ?
Imagine disliking almost everything in a game, still playing it and then complaining about people who enjoy it.
And the best thing : imagine being a chiv vet, having more than 500 hours on Mordhau and claiming you know what you're talking about when actually you still can't read drags or even accels xD

What makes you think Chivalry 2 will be any different from this?
I still feel ripped by the money I spent, tho I have to say the early days during release were amazing.

But yeah, the devs... eh. It just keeps getting worse. Plus the babysitter attempt during halloween really sealed the deal. Not in great hope for the future.

It's actually gotten more popular recently, the devs just don't give a ♥♥♥♥ and are far too slow with updates and do not care for balance. They've made their money so it's not as important anymore it seems.
garbage game
wow u guys wrote an essay, try not to think too deep is just a game, to have fun. A casual game btw very important point

Drags, accels, and all those funky movements are the meat and potatoes of the game's combat. If they didn't want that, they'd lock your camera in place while you swing.

Those mechanics create unreactability and mindgames, which are a MUST for real time melee combat. That kind of combat is the reason Chivalry was so loved that an entire game was spawned from it.

Let's be honest, you don't like the game because you suck at it. And that's fine. But let's not ♥♥♥♥ around and act like this isn't a you problem. Getting good isn't a meme, it's good advice for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and whiners. If you get good and still don't like it, fine. Just not your cup of tea. Move on.
Hey, so I'm replying fully aware you might be one of those people intentionally using the attacks that break animations, but maybe you aren't. There's drags, accels, etc. Then there's ones that have animations that don't match where the actual swing is. The devs are aware of it, most players that have invested time in the game are aware of it. There are, of course, the players that use it, abuse it, and claim it's not a thing, as well.

I met a single player who came close to "breaking animations" using some funky mouse movements on underhand swings with polearms.

He tried to teach another player and I, think I pulled it off one time. It was ultimately just a really bad looking drag. You could do it with overheads or swords too, just something about the polearm animations makes it look terrible.
"their moves have become utterly predictable to each others that duels are nothing more than stamina attrition" lmao you couldn't be more wrong

Imagine this: People who played through all of Chiv 1 and Mordhau will end up in Chiv 2 too. And they will tear up some asses. Mark my words.
It has to come out first for that to be true. If Chivalry 2 is the chivalry 2 we saw, it aint better than Mordhau
