MORDHAU

I am fed up with this dragging and exploiting of mechanics.
I am fed up with this dragging and exploiting of mechanics.

It's the same as in Chivalry and what many players eventually quit Chivalry for.
When I started Mordhau it wasn't a big deal but now all the very unnatural looking twists and movements that take away even the last breath of realism is just ruining it for me.

I am fed up facing players that spend hours watching YouTube videos on " How to exploit the mechanics ".

This isn't beginner-friendly at all nor is it enjoyable to watch and counter.

Please fix this and don't go down the same road as Chivalry. In fact, the combat system needs an entire re-work.

And before you say " But this is the game this is how it works " then I say no, not really. No one would feint like this with a heavy mace or jump and twist back in heavy plate armor like this, it's complete BS.

PS: I won't even bother responding to exploiters on here, only people who support this stuff are people who exploit themselves.

Lack of swing manipulation was literally a selling point before the game came out, and that specifically was the big thing that got me on board. I loved Chivalry, but like Mordhau, this is the ♥♥♥♥ that my drive, and a lot of other people's drive, to play it. It might be an intended feature now, but it certainly wasn't before, and it not being focused on as an issue is either lazy or deceitful.
it was always an intended mechanic dude
Dragging, and accels, sure. Everything past that though wasn't, and it was one of the big reason's people migrated to Mordhau from Chiv 1, and probably the same reason people will migrate from Mordhau to Chiv 2.

Yeah I'm sure it's not easy, but they've barely made any efforts to do so since they were discovered, nor do they seem to intend to. Which also brings up their slowness in updates, which we only get a few a year and they're not all that sizable. A weapon or 2, a handful of new skins, and a map if they're feeling generous. I get that they're a small dev team, but if you actually look into them, being small doesn't seem to be their only problem lmao. They don't seem to care all that much about player retention, or really bringing in new players, and being that Chiv 2 is from a bigger team with more incentive to profit, I think they're gonna put more effort into new and better content than Mordhau has, as well as being more fun for the majority of players.

Knowing the order of American presidents and their ages =/= intelligence. And if you're going purely off academics, your sentence structure isn't helping you. lol

ITT: new players calling intended mechanics working how they are supposed to exploits because they don’t understand them.

Not true. Swing manipulation was intended from the beginning and the devs were very open about it. What they've been saying was that the game has drags but they are not as extreme as in chiv and they are much more readable, which is true.
The exploits chivalry had but are not present in Mordhau are reverse overheads, backswings and 360 spin attacks. The first two existed because the weapon could do damage in windup phase. The third one because there was no turncaps and glancing blow. Chiv2 still has those exploits.
Wessex's, cucumbers and stuff like that are not intended but the devs made some tweaks to make them really hard to pull off. They are very unreliable and this is the reason they are never being used by the best players. I don't think they are much of a problem because you'll encounter such moves very rarely in the game.

If you read my next response I clarified I didn't include drags or accels, because at this point they're hardly swing manipulation in my book considering all the other stuff I've seen in this game. Do you have any videos or clips of obnoxious exploits from Chiv 2? Cuz from what I've seen it seems pretty clean, and the ability to block until your stamina runs out with every single weapon seems like a good counter to their effectiveness anyways.

You haven't seen the chiv 2 reversals right?Literally hitting people when the swing is finished or behind you.

I want to clarify that "swing manipulation" is not something bad or negative. It's just the ability to control your swings in real time. It doesn't mean "drag abuse" or something like that. It's basically drags and accels.
Now about chiv 2 there are videos that show the exploits. They were posted in previous discussions. I'll try to find them again and repost them.
Held block helps against all kinds of attacks so maybe that's why they didn't bother to fix them.
While I agree there are some weapons with really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lame drags and accels that are barely readable to someone that is fairly new to the game, I don't think it matters so much if you're playing the games core open modes with the public servers. I'm not very good and there's usually only a handful of players in the enemy team that I can't compete with because of that lame ♥♥♥♥. I think outside of those game modes is where you willingly step into try hard territory, if you want to compete ranked etc then be prepared to study videos explaining how to read and exploit lame drags and accels, personally I'm not at the point I feel or want the need to do that and I'm not sure I ever will.

Suggest you look at Killslim feedback on the chiv 2 discord, on phone atm can't send it. Mordhau discord also has me present 3 clips of a lsck of early release(Preventing you in mordhau from acceling people frame 1) and very loose turncaps (360 woo)
