Do you know if anything is being planned for the 1-frame accels and similar?
They've done a great job with the animations, they're way better than Chiv ever did them; but I'm just curious if they are going to address these types of accels.
Right now I feel I pretty much have to gamble people who use them.
^ Bump on this, I find the people who use 1 frame accels the most are sitting at 12-20 ping in 80 man servers where most people are at 40-90. They know you gotta gamble that parry too so they use those feints a lot. These opponents have a serious advantage over others, creates a very sour experience.
Some things that can help against fast accels. Good footwork - keep your distance when your opponent has initiative, so you have more time to react. If you are too close to him and he does a horizontal attack, you can run past him towards his swing, to force a miss. You can also predict the accel by looking to his body's position and the angle of his head. All these of course are not guaranteed to always work, as every situation is different. In general, being in the right distance/position helps tremendously with reading.
I don't think everything should be super easy to read, and the devs have done great, but I think the key point is that anything hitting in a frame or less at 60fps is broken.
I'm not pro enough to pull off these accels myself, but it's how some accels appear to behave and KingLouie from YouTube says 1 frame accels are doable, and as above I feel that anything hitting so fast is broken.
Nothing is perfect but I was wondering if they had any plans to address these specific accels.
Thanks for your tips - I'll keep them in mind.
it would be way better in 1v1 duels, some way to have peer to peer connections so both players experience identical lag and with rollback parries will be compared if the other guy landed the parry on his end, thus undoing a hit
