There is literally zero middle ground in this game.
Any game that makes you have to watch guides just to be adequate at it from playing it as a casual level is just bad game design.
Mordhau doesn't know if it wants to be a competitive game or a casual game, because both duels and frontline/invasion are so separate from a skill level that it's confused and lost on what it wants to be.
I have over 300 hours in this game and I can still barely maintain a higher k/d ratio. ( "LOl git gud." Is your insult, so save it as I already heard it a dozen times.)
I applaud the devs for constantly fixing accels/drags exploitation when it comes to the idiotic animations but it's never going to matter when the slowest drag known to man still does maximum damage, or an excutioner sword accel hits instantly.
The player base is going to continue dwindling because the community is not welcoming to new players. At all. Want to play an archer? You're called bad. Want to try and learn how to melee? Expect to spend time like you're playing dota 2 to even become decent.
The game is fun in extremely short bursts, I reinstall every few months only to spend two to three weeks and realize how frustrated it overall is.
Am I sure about having 300+ hours in the game? Yeah i'm pretty sure. I've yet to run into anyone whose just average at the game. Either you're terrible to a point where you're not going to be able to get kills unless you get lucky by fighting brand new players or randomly hitting someone with their back turned.
Or you're a god capable of getting 100 + kills with only 20 or less deaths.
But eh again when ive had a bad day ill grab BL and 1h axe and just cheese my way through a bunch of noobs till they leave too so its a wash i guess.
Ill usually hang back and stop pushing till im the last one left to let the new players have their fun or ill just play some meme build like peasant. But youll always have that one hidden rank bardiche sweatlord who just has to gank the last lvl40 enemy player alongside the rest of the team with his unreadable foot drags.
