Great sword is basically an upgraded long sword with alt grip its basically a normal long sword.

So always go greatsword if you have points to spare.

Longsword has too low damage vs Tier 2 armors and above and the Mordhau mode is short as a Dagger , Greatsword is a better duel weapon but in Frontline where a good Duel never happens I prefer Exe for the extreme damage and long reach with the same 7 points

For duels Greatsword as you can drag it easilier. For Frontline the same.

Longsword is okay when you want to put more points into perks, etc.
On Frontline it kinda sucks bec here the weapon thst kills with the lowest amount of hits usually wins the ranking.

Executioner sword > greatsword. Really no point when they both cost the same to take the one with 3-4 hits to kill over the reliable 2-3 shotter. Especially when the greatswords stab is so slow.

Longsword is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ after the nerf. The only thing it still has going for it really is it's speed. It's quick enough to effectively gamble a lot of slower weapons.

Greatsword is pretty mediocre, but has really good swing manipulation. It's damage is really bad if you aren't hitting headshots and it's pretty slow.

In Frontline I've had far more success with Longsword than Greatsword, to be honest. The range of Greatsword doesn't matter when it's so damn slow. Since the TTK between the two is pretty similar unless you consistently hit headshots with the Greatsword, I think the speed is more valuable than the bit of extra range.

I think you're honestly just better off going with Battle Axe or Pole Axe for 6 points instead of taking the Greatsword. Either that or spending the extra points and taking Bardiche or Halberd.

Except the strikes are the only thing the Messer can do, it's stabs are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unless they hit the head. Messer isn't a very good weapon either, but it's at least better than the Longsword.

Longsword alt-mode is only good in duels and it's range is so short that it's not very difficult to footwork. The Longsword is really bad right now and needs to be buffed.

I've used the LS in every gamemode and the only disadvantage it has is the range compared to polearms and other long weapons, other than that its nicely balanced, good slashes and good thrusts and is speedy enough to do some hit and runs, tho I would priorities the PA (poleaxe) over the LS since its longer, is 3 weapons at once and has those sweat drags.

Range after a certain point is irrelevant due to moving backwards being so slow.
