Is there a difference in repair speed between the mallet and the blacksmith hammer?

Yes the mallet repairs slower than the blacksmith hammer. And the perk helps repair even faster. Perk+Blacksmith hammer is the fastest repair.

since last buff i found blacksmith hammer and perk pointless to equip

becuse mullet itself will repair,build quite fast on its own.which wasnt case before patch

There’s an advanced tab for every weapon in the game. That guide I linked you to shows those stats. In there is a stat called “wood damage”. For example axes do much more damage to wood than swords. But the mallet and hammer do NEGATIVE damage to wood. What do you think that means?

And the blacksmith hammer costs more than the mallet, I wonder why? It’s not like it’s because it’s more effective at it’s job, right??

it means how damage you do to enemy wood fortifications. so you cant destroy them with bh or mullet. you can only repair things with it

Blacksmith Hammer just repair,build faster and its decent weapon for self defense unlike mullet

Wooden Mallet also use to be a complete joke you wanted to kill yourself with for trying to repair things, but at least the recent buff to it made it just "sorta worse" than the blacksmith hammer at that. (still hits like a nerfball as a weapon though).
