You probably wouldn't even use it if they made scythes an option for non peasants.

Scythes deal sky high damage to zero and rank 1 armor, but hit like a pool noodle to anything else.

In real life there would be two types of scythes used in combat. A normal scythe that is being improvised as a weapon and a modified war scythe.

The normal scythe would essentially be used as a two handed war pick, you would want to be doing large downward stabs. The war scythe has its blade rotated and it essentially becomes a billhook like weapon.

And a really crappy one at that. Scythes, even converted ones, are terrible weapons. But I guess there would be no harm in including it.

Actually war scythes were pretty good. Most polearms are better than swords for war and it was essentially a glaive.

War-scythes were just another bladed polearm. Basically a curved sword on a pole.

And as such, fell out of favour of anything but peasant-levies and part-time soldiers because even moderate armour shut them down.

Polearms never fell out of use, even during gunpowder times, because they are incredibly effective in combat.

I guess that could be debated. Greatest problem I see with converted (not purpose-built Warscythes) would be that the blade is probably pretty crappy. Meant to cut grain and not people. If it was a truly viable battlefield weapon it wouldve been used more often than it did.

It did get used often actually, but you are right that the blade wouldnt have been as good as purpose made weapons, but its hard to field an entire army with proper weapons unless you are a rich empire so a converted scythe is a pretty good alternative, hence why it was used very often and late into history.
