helicopter spinning
This game is pretty stupid. Put your mouse on high sensitivity, spin around like a helicopter and become completely eratic and nigh impossible for people to block you.

Then stare at the ground and mouse wheel down for accel down swings. Literally stupid.

I actually want my money back.

Full-body overhead accel is easy read.

I do agree that the turn cap is flawed as it allows people to easily do 360 degree turns as if it didn't even exist. However, assuming that you refer to helicopter spinners in Frontline/ Invasion gamemodes, you can very easily ruin their day by simply blocking. What I have noticed is that the people around the spinner all completely un-plug their brains due to them being under the impression that the spinner is an easy kill due to him being outnumbered and so no one blocks and they all get smacked back to the respawn screen as the spinner's strike cleaves through every single one of them.

So just block. Don't even bother attacking, just focus on blocking. You might not get the kill but you won't die either.

Somebody that's actually spinning in a circle or producing strange stuff like that isn't even attacking, they're literally just standing there, not doing anything, and moving their mouse. Obviously, you can counter this by attacking them.

The more practical form of this is essentially just flexing on people, in higher levels, nobody actually does this, since it's highly counterable and isn't really even that difficult to read once you learn to.

When somebody doesn't something that looks sketchy, they're going to be hitting you with close
to the very end of the swing, since otherwise, the strict turn cap would prevent them from landing it. As such, it's countered just like any other drag, but even more easily, since they can't see what you do. You can footwork out of stuff like this easily, gamble it with faster weapons, you'll usually be able to land a kick, as they can't see you, along with several other minor things that I won't bother listing.

Point is, just like everything else, it's counterable. Whether or not you choose to learn how to counter it is up to you.

think the biggest issue is the janky body feints.

they don't look good and they are insanely hard to read.

I hate it when people complain about ♥♥♥♥ thats not even broken, whats broken is key bindings for all the different swing angles. It allows people to exploit the animation and look wherever the hell they want without having to think about their swing. Cus i mean, its not like the whole gimmic of the game is the connection between your mouse and which way you swing. You can have a game with a high skill ceiling, just make the "skill" part based on consistency and not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ animation.

No, it's not even main gimmick of the game. Game legaly let you to bind any specific attack, there are 3 impartial presets (240, hybrid, classic) and many tools to tune your control as you want. And you for some reason decided that 240 is canonical and only true way to play when in Chivalry as of father of Mordhau combat system was based on binds.

Oh i know, its about what 290 degrees with drags? seems legit. The clown swinging doesnt get put off balance at all my it. Seems legit.

I mean another thing that ♥♥♥♥♥ me to no end is the game decides at some point a swing has "started" and anything it touches takes full damage. Now on one hand, okay fair enough. But on another, wait what? If i was where the weapons swing point started from (wearing plate or chain mail or w/e) your swing doesn't magically go through me. If anything your swing would fail because you wouldnt have the momentum to carry the swing through the obstacle. It defies logic. Then it goes through the next 4 people as well. I mean the absurdity of it...

Broken janky trash is a pretty fair description lets be honest. Original post says it all. I actually want my money back.

The most I've seen is 285 for the turncap, but those are with one-handed weapons. Whereas with two-handed weapons, you'll see 245 being the most. Even then, you can't reverse overhead or start and attack inside someone.

Yes, swings have active frames and anything that touches those frames will end up taking damage. It's the same thing as Dark Souls having invincibility frames when dodge rolling, but I doubt you'd complain about those.

As for plate and chainmail armor allowing cleave, it's a balance thing, this game isn't supposed to be realistic, otherwise longswords would be useless against plate armor, and instead you would have to wrestle the armor off your opponent like they did for real, which doesn't fit with this kind of game. Sorry video games are just that, a game, it's supposed to be fun, not real. It's the same reason you have a health bar instead of organs and blood.

"Broken janky trash" isn't a fair description considering the game works. If you wanted your money back, you shouldn't have played for more than 2 hours, you even played over 200 hours, which if you do the math, you basically paid 15 cents for every hour you played of it.

What's next? "The Wolf Among Us isn't realistic because werewolves don't exist"? Yet, it seems you enjoyed that game. https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197977279244/recommended/250320/

Thats just a tag given by players that have no idea what they are talking about.
Mossiveunit May 11, 2020 @ 6:25am
No it's on the actual store page advertisement.

"MORDHAU strikes a balance between gameplay and realism."
If you mean this phrase, it doesn't mean that the game is realistic, but that it has some realistic elements. It's a balance between the 2 aspects, not a combination.

bastard sword has an unreasonably high turncap so yes you can do full ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 360 helicopter spins with it on a riposte (its a bit more difficult with horizonals as you get maybe only 240 degrees so you need a really tight angle to true 360, but stabs and overheads/uppercuts go nuts)
not so much on ♥♥♥♥ like gs and zwei

i spin around just to dab on people but left sided sweep lookup spin or right sided lookup poke spin at neutrals do work pretty well in general
