Upcoming changes and additions
Here are some of the changes that will be included in the upcoming patch.

These were taken from discord discussions, so they are a bit random and not very well organised.

Keep in mind that nothing is set in stone and things can change up to the last moment.

- 5v5 skirmish variant gamemode. 2 teams with a point in the middle.

- Overpower is removed from ripostes and ripostes no longer clash with non ripostes.

- Overpower still exists on shield model during riposte as a special for them.

- Stab feint window reduced by 25ms.

- Team hitstop cleave change reverted.

- Riposte chamber still exists, but the window is now the same as a regular chamber instead of the full windup.

- Jump kick has 50ms slower windup, no longer drains stamina on hit but has more range (slows down mid air MUCH less). The new jump kick works with the jump momentum, so if you full sprint on max speed and then jump kick it will have massive range. Stam drain is removed so it's less cancer in duels.

- Lower stabs will be removed for the time being. its a temporary solution until stab animation improvements come which take more time.

- Chase mechanic tweaks. The amount of time it takes for chase to deactivate (once u stop aiming at the right spot) will be increased. Corner cheesing will also be nerfed.

- Faster rock reload.

- Point system is reworked. 48 points instead of 16, all costs will be raised x3 to go with it.
There will be mainly point reductions on some things, so there will be a small point inflation.
Some perks that cost 1 point right now will get cheaper, also some equipment.
You'll be able to take a bit more stuff with a build like 3/3/3 longsword, or any build really.
The first iteration of this will probably be unbalanced in some occasions as it will allow a lot of combinations.

- Weight system added.
Halberd and zwei have heavy weight debuff, which means they increase the weight of plate armor, but they dont slow you down without plate armor (weapons have weight multipliers for armor).
So you can go full plate but you'll be slower with them, hence why they are cheaper now.
Spear, bardiche alt mode and executioner sword have it too, but it's a moderate weight debuff, which is a bit less.
The debuff is in effect while you hold the weapon in your hands, but it affects only your combat speed (walk and partial sprint). Top speed isn't affected so you won't need to change to a lighter weapon or unequip your weapon in order to run faster across the map.

- To compensate for the weight nerf halberd zwei and spear are cheaper now. Down to 8 points with the current point system (24 in the new).

If halberd and zwei are the same points what’s the difference between the two?
- halberd is a bit faster, zweihander has better drags.

- Bardiche and eveningstar cost goes down to 7 (current point system).

- Shortsword will be cheaper than cleaver and dagger.

- Estoc is the same cost as longsword now, same with battleaxe.

- Perks will be cheaper in general.

- Armor pieces will have different costs, e.g plate chest will cost 9 now, helmet 8 and legs 7.
No armor has same cost

- Medium torso is slowed down very slightly (still faster than before).

- No changes to T1 armor.

- Plate armor will be a bit more tanky. A bit less raw damage vs plate chest and a lot of 2 shots on plate helmet are removed. Plate chest in general takes a bit less damage (same hit to kills though). So instead of nerfing the fun of light builds, plate will just get buffed instead.

- Maul is unchanged in damage

- No changes to greatsword.

- Messer had its two shot removed against plate head

Not on this patch (but maybe the next):

- New crossbow skin in the works.

- New map for the Mosh Pit gamemode is in the works. The gamemode will be tested after the map is finished.

- Fixing missing on purpose and 1vX buffs via easy parry.

- New invasion maps in the works.

- New pause menu with interactive scoreboard will bring more options to the players.

maybe i am under a rock but what is Overpower ?
I feel like they're making way too many big changes to address corner case issues and ignoring some of the bigger problems at the same time. That nerf to combos off a missed attack is such a waste of development hours, 90% of players skilled and unskilled didn't realize you could do it and in all cases you could've just feinted to achieve better results. Making the shortsword cheaper than the cleaver/dagger instead of just nerfing the cleaver/dagger and/or buffing the shortsword (which is bigger than those weapons so should probably hit harder) is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ backwards I have to wonder what kind of person populates the discord.

Additionally, considering how poorly supported some of the game modes are adding new ones seems like a bad idea. Optimally, they should have all game modes separated by team sizes so people that want the chaos of larger battles can have them and folks that prefer smaller fights can have those.

Also, noticing that talk of female models is absent. Looking back at how many arguments that caused, they probably should've just said they weren't doing it since it seems they are not.

Think he means how your attack won't get interrupted when performing a riposte.

Yes, riposte clashing smashes away the regular incoming attacks.
So, when you attack a riposte in windup or release and hit the weapon, you'll get clashed.
This mechanic was added to fix riposte clashing for the 1 in 1vX.

I heard they'll split the 2 gamemodes this patch.
ok more stab feint nerfs even though theyre literally worthless right now
ok jump kick nerfs i guess those are fine
removing the lower stab anims? wat? i mean sure they were kinda hard to read but they just flat out replace them with the upper stab ones or something? what about the riposte anims or beyblading stabs?

so, no new armors?

Hey Void, will ripostes be interruptible only by weapon clashes or will it apply to body hits too, like in all normal attacks ?? I think all attacks should be interruptible for more reality.
I am glad for devs' adding weapon weight and more balance in item costs.

From what I see, overpower is removed from ripostes. Instead they won't be clashing with normal attacks. This approach makes it more simple. Overpower was kind of inconsistent.

"I heard they'll split the 2 gamemodes this patch"

Great, so splitting up the playerbase even more, and also making many unessesary changes to the combat...Total Bruh moment. I hope some of these changes aren't real whatsoever and are JUST ideas they thought about.

I wonder why they're restricting 240 users so much as to remove underhand stabs? What issue does it create?

These are just a few random changes taken from discussions. The full change log will come with the patch.

Thank god the Messer is getting nerfed. 3-2-3 armor is viable against it now.

Also. Why

This patch seems very, very unpromising.

I suppose the idea is that they want to give more freedom to the player, that is, if somebody wants to use a Zweihander with full-plate, they can, but they also have to go with the penalties (Weight System).

The idea is good in paper, now is it good in-game, for this game? I guess we will see, but I got my doubt it will be any good.

From what I've seen, the shield rework was actually a disaster.
Even if the changes are good, the QoL of it was gone, which is what people are more mad about. To say it simple; "Holding R to block is stupid, why not just hold a button/mousekey?"
