Does Riposte negate Flinch?

I stabbed someone with Messer but they continued to finish their overhead attack, absolutely no flinch was caused by my attack.

This isn't hyper armor. Its just unflinchable. Hyper armor is a mechanic where you take less damage during reposte but its no longer in the game.

Interesting, I didn't know about this feature, but I have noticed at times that I take considerably less damage, is that a result of using a riposte
