It's not nostalgia. One thing that Chiv did better was to give agatha (blue) and the order (red) different voices. Agatha having more "knight" like voices, and the order more rough voices. Also it doesn't feel fresh anymore since most lines already existed in Chivalry. On top of that Mordhau repeats a lot of lines. E.g. try saying "sorry" with different voices and many of them have something like "you should have moved away then". Lines like that are funny when they are dropped in a unexpected situation, but in Mordhau they are all over the place.
Also lines like "you are wearing a lot of armor" don't really work that well in Mordhau since you choose what kind of armor you wear. In Chivalry it was the light armored people that said that line.
Do you remember insults like "you smell like a woman" by one of the Man at arms, how well thats going to work in 2021 I wonder, not sure, I feel like people are going to take issue with that.
I remember that one, was man at arms. I sucked at maa but played it because I loved using that one insult. About it being okay in 2021... I think it's okay to sometimes cross lines. It's an insult and hits harder that way.
