Bard killing ethics
friendly reminder, if you see a bard playing *well* and you kill him. You are scum and will be ousted by the community. (not really but it's in poor taste)

Times it is socially acceptable to kill a bard
1. if he is attacking you
2. if he is on an objective cap
3. if he cant actually play and is just mashing notes
4. if he is playing chainsaw by limp biscuit

I made a video about this. It's more geared tword comedy though

The Bards Guild exists to set a standard code of conduct for lute players in order to formalize and legitimize their role on the battlefield, and raise bards up to the status of a respected or at least tolerated class in Mordhau by recognition of their contributions validated by their membership status in the Guild.

https://steamcommunity.com/app/629760/discussions/0/2530372519572796704/

If a lute player is not in compliance with Guild law or acting outside the accord of the Bards Guild, then they deserve whatever punishment you dole out on them.

Lute players if you wish to increase the longevity of your performance on the battlefront and gain greater acceptance for your role as a battlefield musician, you are strongly encouraged to consider membership in the Bards Guild.

If you're going to try to ruin everyone else's gaming experience by slanting matches against them and effectively shrinking the amount of combatants on your team, then don't whine when we come over to TK or votekick you and ruin YOUR 'fun'.

If you are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ don't pretend you're anything other than a griefer.

Teamkilling causes YOUR team to lose respawn tickets. I can understand frustration from a difficult match, but since you neither lose nor gain anything from winning or losing a match, it hardly even matters. There's no real progression than earning gold and unlocking equipment of your choosing, that's all there is. Your rewards from a match is measured by the length of time, and your activity in it. Still your boost might only be like... 80 gold.

The best you can do for your team is to ignore the bard and save the respawn tickets for slaughtering the enemy. Good bards focus on helping out the team first, and their lute second.

If there's a bad bard who's not doing much at all, or isn't responsive in the presence of danger, let the enemy do the job for you.

I think DayZ is a fine example of ethics, or lack of, in video games.

dean hall. yes lack thereof, however the second company that took over takes care of it. Be it willful ignorance or just simply ignorance, my review specifies the new team and devlopment cycle

The lost tickets are worth it if I manage to ruin this idiot's fun to the point where they either leave or decide to actually play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. Wanna ruin your team's match by idling and playing midi scripts? Fine, we'll ruin your fun too.

I was talking about the player base not the quitter Rocket who single handedly polluted the Arma community with Cod Kiddies.

The KOS mentality of DayZ is the same as Bard killing. Although why would people want to strum that lute in a 32 v 32 player match. if it was an MMO with Planetside scale battles, then yes, bards would be great. In this arena style round based matches playing a bard is idiotic.

The devs made a stupid decision to allow bards in Frontline. they offer nothing except an annoying din. The battles are far too small to allow it.

They allow for some hectic fun music, lighten up will ya!
I play deathmatch duel severs so bards are welcome since there is an honour code of 1 v 1 only. having some idiots strum their lutes in Frontline is pointless and will result in a loss to whichever team has the most bards.

Dumb dung foolish nonsense.

A community that likes arrow parrying and dislikes damage zones on weapons isn't really the best community.

That is boring, Red Dwarf is a million times better!
I love Red Dwarf been watching since the 80's. Around the same time as Red Dwarf acid house parties emerged and that developed into the rave and club culture we have today. that is not boring and acid is not boring.

32 v 32 and only 27 of your side is fighting because 5 dorks are making a din with a lute is ruining the match. Would you go see a band if you knew that a certain percentage of the members were too wasted to play their instruments and were just mucking about doing nothing useful?

The bards are a bad decision by the devs. the game is not an MMO is it. It's a small scale, round based match where you need all of your team fighting.

What would be fun is a castle siege where the bards use directional voice chat, like ACRE mod in Arma and mock the enemies from the castle walls.

Bards are idiots.
