That is very true... the lute has a limited octave range and songs in certain keys just sound funky on it.
Death metal actually comes out very well on the lute :-) You have any specific requests?
It would be extraordinarily difficult to play the lute well without Lutebot. Even with Lutebot, a lot of lute players sound awful. This is because Lutebot reads MIDI files, so unless you are good at finding making and editing MIDI files your lute will still sound like garbage. I spend most of the time outside the game using other programs to make the MIDI files for Lutebot. Lutebot itself is actually very simple to use, getting good MIDI files is the hard part.
