Bard Song Requests
I have seen much hate for the lute bois around here, and think I have REALLY discovered the TRUE source of this conflict - all these other lute players are really, really BAD.

Just like any other weapon in the Mordhau arsenal, just because you can equip it does not make you equally as skilled at wielding it. The same is absolutely true for the Lute - even if you have LuteBot! LuteBot does not automatically make you a great lute player either, and is another tool you must learn to wield with skill and discipline in order to become a true lute master.

The fact that there is such a level of nuance and attention to detail for a musical instrument in this game in the first place is obviously something the developers meant for the players to discover and enjoy. Players should stop trying to tell others the "right" way to play, everyone can enjoy the game in their own way without resorting to strong language, team killing, and vote kicking.

As obviously the undisputed greatest lute player in all the realms, I have taken the mantle upon myself to enlighten the community over the mighty power the lute most certainly possesses by opening my services to take song requests, and educate other young aspiring lute players with my shining example.

I already cover various works by Metallica and Slayer. I can whip out some Queen or Van Halen. I have a little something special from Satyricon in my arsenal. I can even take a crack at Freebird, or Duel of the Fates. Don't ask me to play Pirates of the Caribbean though, you've already heard every other noob lute player try that one already so I won't bore you with it.

What song would you like to hear a lute player play right, and would inspire you into battle? Leave a reply and challenge me to cover your favorite song! Think you are a better bard than I? Come find me on the battlefield with your lute armed and we'll see about that! Are you an aspiring bard and willing to submit to the rigorous training of the Lutemaster? Add me as a friend!

This is a great track I can see why you would like to hear it covered on a lute! There are some percussive elements to this song that may be lost in translation but I bet it will still sound great. I will let you know when I have finished composing my arrangement of this piece to share with you!

I remember this game! :-) This song should be a short and sweet easy cover to perform on the lute if I can make sure it is in the right key. I will share my performance with you here once I have completed my arrangement!

This is obviously something that somebody needs to have done already, and I accept since no one else seems to have actually done so yet. This should be pretty easy to cover on the lute, and provides extra hilarity in those special rounds full of salty lute haters. I will post a "Knights React" video for you here after I have completed my arrangement and bought my hat so we can all enjoy together how well this great idea went over on a live server!
how fast can u make the music? i want the most spastic thing possible (but still recognizably melodic)

You mean something like Through the Fire and Flames?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15JCb6P60Vw

I can upload a lute cover of that unless you have something more manic in mind! Really fast music actually translates very well to the Mordhau lute, some of my best covers are black metal songs.

I will probably spend some time composing and recording tomorrow, so hope to have some fresh covers posted on Sunday!

Brilliant, I love it! The difficulty in arranging this piece will not be the speed, but the range. The Mordhau lute has a limited octave range so runs that span more than a couple octaves quickly will be misrepresented on the lute. I don't know if I can do this piece justice, but I accept the challenge and we'll see how my arrangement comes out!
Compositions for Vivaldi, Bonanza, and the C64 Winter Games theme are completed! I am giving Wintersun a little extra attention right now. I will try them all out tonight to some surprise audiences on random servers, and will post the results online tomorrow. Hopefully video evidence of my amazing skills will then inspire additional song requests to challenge my lute mastery!

Here it is! This one was easy and fun!

Your Wintersun request still vexes me a little and is requiring some extra handcrafted love and attention to get right but I'm still working on it because it's a great tune!

I am working on finishing SirDuc's request next, which is actually a piece from the Olympic Fanfare known as "Bugler's Dream".

Cocyx The Gay Skeleton's Vivaldi request is also in progress but as expected the octave spanning runs are giving the lute a difficult time with its limited range. Still working on it!

Here it is... enjoy! Sorry that last note at the end is anti-climactic because the lute can't hit the high note lol

There are a few weird octave jumps in there but overall I think it came out very well and got a good reaction on the field!
