Catapults.....why!?!?
What in the world would they add this to an otherwise amazing game, when some guy can sit in a corner, press a button and kill dozens of people every single match. It adds absolutely no strategic value, has no counter, and vastly skews each game towards the team that actually has it.

I don't really mind having catapults. But what i find strange is that it seems like only the red team starts with them?

Because it's fun! And besides, I haven't noticed such a big over OP feature in matches. They are seldomly used as most people prefer to fight in close combat.

Does the "Friendly" perk work with catapults?

catapults sucks together with the fire and smoke bombs give us bit more open space maps with many horses idiots (lovely meaning) for big cavalery clashes and why no duel mode :-(

I have a feeling that they were left over from a conquest-style game mode, maybe they swapped it for the battle royale mode or something but left it in.

No strategic value? No counter?

The catapult is nothing if not strategic. It can take down defenses.

The best counter to the catapult is to simply steal the catapult.

Also, it kills teammates just as well as enemies.

Now, whether or not it's fun to have catapults in the game is entirely subjective. I personally would rather not have them, but not because of the reasons you mentioned.

Cavalry counters catapults. Catapults counter catapults. PTFOing counters catapults.

I think catapults should be removed from the game, is a weapon for noobs and destroy a lot of epic combats.

The cata is fine, if you are an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you can actually steal it and push it into ur camp hahahah, that said it bring up the Chivalry vibe when you teamkill 4 teammates with it and then they respawn and start beating the ♥♥♥♥ out of you :)

The rocks flying are slower than the obese woman that slowly walks to walmart when there's a pop tart discount lmao just run away from it and if you get hit during a fight then ditto your enemies probably died too so that's fine

The maps with catapults have been balanced in such a way that the red team needs them to win. On grad they're assaulting a castle and on camp the blue team gets a much better fortified position on the middle point with the siege tower collapsed. They can be countered by horses, too.

Normally i have a severe issue with players choosing ranged characters in a melee game but this is vastly due to the fact that you can have games with 32 archers vs 32 people with swrods and it just gets extremely unbalanced and fair HOWEVER with the catapult its different because you can track its arc, or find where it is in the spectator death camera and just assault it and both teams get 1 not one team has 12 catapults and the other has 3 its very balanced and fair and from certain distances you cant really tell where to aim and are just praying for a hit with it so honestly the catapult is just fine where it is and its the archery that needs to be adressed
