Arquebus firearms?
In War of the Roses the arquebus/wheel-lock weapons were a passively reloading (like one-two minutes) one shot weapon, garnering 20-45dmg with horrible accuracy ( I mean like horrible, 20% hit-chance kind of accuracy). Movement speed was slowed like any ranged weapon in Mordhau, and buffed based on perks you selected.

I would like to see this in-game given the time-period this game represents. The Arquebuses were only meme-like opening weapons, with very little significant effectiveness in combat unless you rolled a pretty good chance in War of the Roses.

I ask this simply so I can use them fancy landsknecht cosmetics and roleplay a high-medieval arquebusier.

Specifics:
7 (still need room for an adequate sidearm)
0-45 dmg

Accuracy when aimed at target (in metres) = percent chance = damage dealt
0-5 = 100% = 45
5-10 = 40% = 18
10-15 = 25% = 11.25
15-20 = 10% = 4.5

Basically only really useful if there's more than one enemy infront of you to increase the chances of hitting something, or nothing at all ;) Maybe also have a smokebomb effect that lasts for 2-5 seconds to simulate the blindness that Arquebusiers experienced when firing their smoke sticks.

If lutes can be in the game, why can't semi-useful/pointless gunpowder weapons?

Edit: I also remember that the firearms were particularly useful in breaking shields in War of the Roses. Given the low hit-chance this wouldn't be a nerf for shield users, as the roll of the dice would determine who got hit first in the encounter i.e firing the gun may allow you to get hit first if you missed, or given a good dice roll you'd break the opponents shield IF they were even close enough (withstanding 100% 45dmg)

This game was created with the vision of medieval combat in mind with archers, footman, knights, etc. adding in Firearms would be a bad idea as when firearms were created the rules of war changed dramatically.

ok but this isn't war, it's a game, and they can balance it given that they did exist in medieval times.

no.
yes it is historically accurate to have firearms, but it's not what most people think when they think of medieval battles, there are some weapons like the halberd that were from the the 17-18th century, but they feel and look fine in a medieval setting, while an arquebus that is from the the 14-15th century does not.
Besides if we take a look on other medieval combat games that had firearms (besides war of the roses that i didn't play so i can't really talk about it) like mount& blade: with fire and sword, it was one the least played versions...

They wont add it because it would make people in plate armor cry. Or if they did you'd see people parrying your musket balls/cannon balls with their sword. Or they'd be severely nerfed where they'd be useless like everything else that isn't a melee foot soldier in this game.

No thanks.

Archers already do so much damage to plate armour, guns would have to be 1 shot weapons to be relevant. And that'd just ♥♥♥♥

Ok cool. nevermind then.
It would be cool to have 14th, 15th and 16th century firearms. They're late era-Medieval weapons. It's weird that we get weapons that are from the Renaissance Era, like the Rapier that came into play after the Middle Ages ended, guns were used late Middle Ages for 300 years during the 14th, 15h and 16th Century. There should be a Campaign Mode in Mordhau that takes you through the 6th century till the 16th century and guns are only use in the late period

The game has landsknecht and zweihanders.
That's renaissance not medieval.
Not to mentioned that looks like to be a mid 17th century rapier. Very much not a medieval weapon.
This is a mele combat death match game, not a medieval combat game.
No. Don't want it. Sorry. I wanted to play as a knight, not the civil war or age of firearms.
Probably never going to be added. I would wait for modded servers to fill that need. I'm sure they could have a pistol in one of those.
Handguns. I'd be fine if there was a 25% chance that they'd blow your arm off due to faulty metalworking and powder.

Seriously though, I can see them working similar to a crossbow, where you'd have to stop to reload the thing, and it would ignore armor, but do overall the same, or less damage than the crossbow.

I love pike & shot and think it is underrated, but.....Nah, not this game.
No. We have enough people risk-adverse and refusing to play the game, we don't need another talentless cheese strat for cowards to abuse all match.
