- Anyone with the really long weapons can have their extra reach become completely useless.
- In group fights you can single out enemies and pull them towards your team where they'll get quickly murdered.
- You can prevent someone running away if they're lightly armoured.
- You can combo a 2nd stab very quickly (having a similar effect to an accel) because they'll be directly in front of you when the 2nd stab is released. Amazes me how often players don't block the 2nd stab without doing any fancy moves to confuse them.
- If you're flanking, you can mess up someone's footwork by pulling them away from a teammate they were attacking. If they have a short weapon this can completely pull them out of attack range.
The reason the pulling mechanic is vastly better on thrusts is because it's much more controlled. There pretty much isn't a single situation where you want multiple enemies pulled towards you simultaneously, whereas pulling one at a time can help pick them off one by one. Also if your goal is to bring a distant enemy closer, logically it makes more sense to have the pulling mechanic on your attacks with the longest reach i.e. thrusts.
