How good are bots?
Are they better than in Chivalry?

i cant compare them to chivalry, but i have tried out being an engineer on a bot match on frontline.

they will destroy fortifications you build/repair if it blocks their pathing, this is expected behavior from enemies, but not from allies

They are much better than in chivalry. Much more clever and they simulate real players in fighting. Also there are a ton of different bots each one with its own personality, equipment and skill.

Gotta say, the personality bit makes me curious. I haven't fought bots to my knowledge so I'm wondering how that tends to go.

in frontlines they tend to group up really close to eachother so maybe they wanna fix that you could just firepot them all

Also, sometimes they try and attack other players/bots through fences and such, even if there is no way for them to hit. Or in a stage like Contraband (I think that's what its called, the one with the ruins), they sometimes stay in their spawn zone and never come down.

Wait, you can´t play offline with bots?
You can, but they don't spawn in Skirmish mode. Obviously a bug, and I hope they fix it soon. But bots work offline in deathmatch and team deathmatch for sure.

They don't know how to walk without getting caught on stuff and they can't climb ladders.

No worries. And just fyi, they person on here saying how great they were is a developer, so take that for what it is. But as a non-developer, I can say that they are pretty fun to play against. I've had some tense fights against them. But I'm still a beginner in this game, and I'm sure that better players have an easier time beating them.

My first bot match eventually my team pushed them back and the other bots were stuck in their spawn a little above ground and was just staring down at us and we were staring up at them. No fighting bc none were programmed to jump down from there apparently. I just said ♥♥♥♥ it and went online
