Even with predicting enemy movement its more of luck based since slight twitch means you miss because damn bolt takes its time to get there.
I do agree it should do more against heavy armor. I was shooting at my practice target beside my garage & missed the crossbow bolt went through both metal walls of my garage.
It would of kept going but got stuck on the fins on the arrow. Idk how good the medieval crossbows were though.
Weaker then the modern ones (unless you have a reproduction of a medieval one), but they'd still be quite powerful.
Check out skallagrim on YouTube? He covers it there i believe, he does reviews and cutting tests too. One of the few YouTubers i both enjoy watching but also recommend to others.
It's decent I guess as a "I'm going to randomly pull this surprise pre-loaded gun out of my ass and finish off someone who still has half HP from medium range" weapon. But then you have to ask if that's really worth sacrificing seven points of armor/weapons for, especially when throwing axes are only slightly less effective.
