80k gold for skin is too much
New skin 80k???? Are you kidding me?????
I know beautiful skin needs expensive price, maybe it's designed to be an item that sets you apart from the rest.
But 80k seems like a crazy amount, most ordinary players have no enough gold to buy at all. I think maybe 40k is a reasonable price.

Not everyone wastes thousands of hours on the game.
This skin let me feels like this game is taking a course to please a small bunch of no-lifers elitists only.

I am very worried about the skin system, the price has increased from the initial 60k+ to the current 80k now.
New skin is getting more and more expensive, I am worried there may be a price of 100k+ or even 200k+ skin in the future.
This is not a good thing for the game environment.

I hope developers can see this.
Please don't cost the skin so expensive.

80k is nothing. Put some hours in and save your gold.

And if it is to easy to get, everyone would have it.

its for long term play, not instant gratification

sht, i'd add a 1000 gold to the cost of everything at base level. it's all too cheap. i had everything i wanted unlocked by level 40

Is this sword now the most expensive item in the game?
Popkoji Jun 23, 2019 @ 10:45am
The Bastard Sword skin should cost 15k, while the Executioner Sword should cost 30k.

Be happy it's a free currency to use for cosmetics, with Chivalry you had to pay real money for different skins and some were 15$ a pop and the customization wasn't even close to Mordhau. I personally see nothing wrong with the prices. Those high price items are for people who save up and earn the money through game time. Like Duke said its for long term play not instant gratification.

Say you get 700 gold for every regular game you play. If you had just purchased some stuff and have less than 1000 gold, you'd need to play 57 regular games in order to afford even just the Bastard Sword skin. 57 games that you don't lose connection to, 57 games you don't quit out of early, 57 games you have to be playing the entire time in order to get the gold. At that point, it feels like too much of an ordeal.

Okay, let's do some basic maths and assume that 20 minutes of game time equates to around 500 gold (that seems to be about right for doing well in a long-ish Frontlines game). This gives us 1,500 an hour. With some fairly simple arithmetic, that's about 53 hours and 20 minutes to unlock this one skin on this one sword.

Now, if we assume that a player actually has, say, a job or something to do during the day, wants to sleep and otherwise basically take care of themselves, then maybe we can afford say 5-6 hours a day. Playing only this game. No other games allowed. No watching a movie, going out with friends, or anything.

So that's 10 days for... one skin. On one weapon. Some weapons then get further things that you need to unlock.

But then you might want to use another weapon. Or decide that the skin doesn't look right. Or that you want to try a different armour look.

When your game's sales pitch places customisation above weapon variety, adding an increasing number of weapons that require more than most games' playtimes to do alone tends towards the excessive. This sort of pricing doesn't encourage playing longer--when it comes to adding another 100 hours into a game, a single cosmetic isn't an encouragement--it just punishes people for not having that level of time.

Working a job and having 5-6 hours to spend on gaming daily?.. more like 1-2 hours.. I am also under impression that the cost in time for some of these skins is a bit jacked up a tad too high. Yes this is currency you earn while playing the game and it's by no means anything other than a bonus, but still. I would rather own every cosmetic under 6000 gold and mix and match for different outfits, but I guess these skins are meant to show off your proficiency and dedication to this particular weapon...

I mean it was a rough estimation and is assuming 8 hours to work every day including the weekends. But yeah, it's already being generous to assume that after sleeping and eating you can more or less no-life the game and live almost on top of your workplace or work from home.

But what happens after you play for a small amount of hours and have everything unlocked? That leads to boredom very quickly.

You... play the game because it's fun?

Withholding content because players can't play enough doesn't make it more fun for everyone else.

This isn't an MMO that needs subscriptions.

Au contraire. Anything that alters gameplay needs to be accessible so that all players can get them. That's why everyone starts with 1 piece of every tier/slot of armor already unlocked.
Skins and cosmetics, that's where you can amp the price up, and that's what they've done. You reward people's time investment with cosmetics, and you do NOT punish newcomers with high prices on essential gameplay choices.
Not that Jun 23, 2019 @ 12:40pm
It’s a ♥♥♥♥♥♥’ skin, who cares. Y’all would be happier with loot boxes and mtx I think.
