Extreme stuttering at random intervals
I'm using a GTX 1060 that should be more than able to handle Mordhau, and 90% of the time the game runs at 100+ FPS consistently. Mordhau utilizes about 25% of my CPU according to task manager when I'm playing only it. Despite this, my game occassionally drops for periods of about 5-10 seconds to a stuttering, sub-1 FPS, horrific ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess, that start out not occuring at all for entire games and then go up to occuring as often as once every few minutes. It seems like it's been getting worse and worse with time, and because the stutters last for about 5-10 seconds, every time it happens it is more or less a guaranteed death in frontline. What the hell is going on here? Is this just horrible ♥♥♥♥♥♥ spaghetti code, or is Mordhau singlehandedly frying my entire GPU somehow? Any help? I turned post-processing off entirely as that was reccomended in one thread and it has done absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Someone said disabling hardware acceleration on discord helped them, This is a common problem I have a gtx 1080 and an i7 7700k and i still get the same stutter. I turned the game down to 1440p from 4k and the changed nothing at all, so i know it's not some sort of gpu throttling.

Here is how you fix the problem, it is something to do with realtek audio cards and amd fx cpu's, if your game works with no freezing if you turn the audio off then you have this problem.
Navigate in your game files to your config, it should be here E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Mordhau\Engine\Config
Open the BaseEngine Configuration setting file
Scroll to the bottom of the file and you will see "[Messaging]
bAllowDelayedMessaging=false"
hit enter after this line twice to make sure you format correctly, and then paste this.
[/script/engine.audiosettings]
bDisableMasterEQ=True
save the file and start up mordhau, your freezing should be fixed.

Hope this helps some of you that are having stuttering and freezes.

People with intel cpus also have this problem though, I tried the turning off hardware acceleration in discord like someone on this discussion board mentioned earlier today and the one game i had the time to play was 100% stutter free. I would suggest everyone try that before anything else.

Guys, you obviously have to rewire your GPU, to your CPU while hacking into the NASA main server frame, while sucking the Developers ♥♥♥♥ at the same time... I know, it sounds tricky... But that's just the start of it. After climaxing, you must then contact the FBI and Secret Service to synchronize with NASA Servers to redirect all of the Global supercomputer power to YOUR CPU, and then start Mordhau... If everything goes right, you should play the game without stuttering....

With everything disabled and on low.

I've tried seven different solutions now, from changing the Mordhau process to high to setting literally everything disabled and on low and making sure my drivers are indeed up to date and Mordhau is still managing to turn my computer into a blazing inferno of overheating and stuttering constantly.

I'm just going to uninstall the game, honestly. The stuttering's just gotten WORSE and now every minute to thirty seconds, on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOW SETTINGS with a GTX 1060, I stutter for sub 1 FPS for 5-10 seconds. It's completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unplayable. Genuinely ridiculous.

Ugh.

Just curious but do you run dual monitors?

I had the same exact issue as you but since I disabled my second monitor the game has been running with massive stuttering issues like that.

Sure i still small stutters here and there but that's more than likely due to my system been old and underpowered.

ahh bugger was kinda hoping you'd be running duals and that would solve it.

Yeah it's a bit baffling why systems more than capable of playing the game are having issues.

Hope you get it sorted out mate.

Appreciated. I just genuinely have no clue at this point and it's gotten so bad that I can't really play the game anymore, so I'm just gonna throw my hands up in defeat and wait for a while to see if devs patch it up.

Do you remember when they released the patch with the friend icon and the absolutely dumbster fire of a performance that followed? I believe that there might have been leftovers of that issue. That's just my guess but it's the only thing I can think of.

Since yesterday my performance has degraded even more. My frames are all over the place with constant drops. Regardless of how low I put my settings the performance is the same. (*)

I was playing Grad (64 player frontlines) and after I died I moved the spectator camera to look at the graveyard with the 2-3 houses behind the castle. I made sure to include no players in my field of view.

My frames were anywhere between 30-50. They weren't stable not even for a single second.

Next up, Taiga (again 64p frontlines). I was on my character selection screen. The only thing that was being rendered was my character, the rock wall behind him and a couple trees and leaves.
Same results as Grad. 30-50 frames not stable at all.

I know that a GTX 980 is quite old but I believe that it's powerful enough to absolutely shred an empty valley with a couple houses or a stone wall with a single character in front of it.

To me this combined with (*) indicate that there's a problem with the game.

Rest of specs if you're interested are:
i7 6700
16GB RAM
Game is on an SSD.

EDIT: I also checked my temperatures and I'm not overheating.
EDIT 2: I have already tried deleting the cache files located in the AppData folder.

"It works for me so it can't be the game, it's your setup" isn't the right conclusion.
Being self immune to a sickness doesn't mean this sickness doesn't exist.

Too many people with different setups are experiencing the same FPS problems since recently.

same problem. any fixes?
