Which Pole-Arm's the "best"?
It's obvious, but I'll ask. Which Pole-Arm's the superior? Psst, it's the Halberd.

I prefer billhook for its chambering & strike speed & effectiveness against cavalry. Also like pole axe for versatility. Great against all armor levels & has a great thrust attack.

I know! Why should they nurf the Halberd? The Halberd needs a buff, at least lower its cost and return it to normal, also make it do more damage and swing faster. AT LEAST!

Oh billhook, I love that weapon. I love using it against cavalry scum and making them eat the dirt on the ground
So satisfying snatching their ass*s out the saddle isnt it? Then finishing them as they try to get up.

Depends what op mean with "best". If we are talking damage and cleansing potential it's the halberd I think.
But when you take point costs into account I believe the Pole Axe is the best alrounder. Especially after the buff down to 6 points.

Not sure why, but I believe you might be biased :D

What I mean by "best" is how close it is to the Halberd, so the Halberd wins everything else is useless. My loadout's 3 Halberds and I don't know how I did it.

I love this thing so much. I learned the game with this weapon, and it holds a very special place in my armory, despite only being on one build.

I agree, poleaxe is the best all around polearm, maybe even best all around weapon in the game next to the longsword with its cost reduction. Really glad they did something to it too, compared to the greatsword of the same cost prepatch, it was slower, less reach, and same damage. Kinda wish they buffed stats instead to be on par with the greatsword, but cost reduction is alright I guess.

I'm of the opinion that the Bardiche now is better than the Halberd. It's pretty much the same range as the halberd, but now it does more damage than the Exe sword.

The Billhook is definitely a really cool weapon- it's one of those "in-between" weapons that can sometimes leave you thinking "why choose this when I could choose the highest-damage one or the longest one or the fastest one?" BUT it has a special gimmick that makes it an informed and interesting pick alongside it's well-rounded stats
ImHelping Jun 9, 2019 @ 11:30am
Hard to escape the pure well rounded nature of the halbeed.

But when you want to go for some Economy pricing, Bardiche has always been a joy. You trade in any relevant thrust damage for the longest choppy distance this side of the halberd. Which is good not just for hilarious offscreen kills, but if you care about your teammates it's very nice for threading the needle with overhands into a crowds.

They even gave it instant kills vs bare legs like the Exec sword has had this whole time, though there was the unspoken fine print that only applies to it's longer range alt grip. Rude.

People crying "HALBERD RUINED! BARDICHE BETTER NOW!" are just pure crocodile tears. All the more so when saying ♥♥♥♥ like-

Yeah. no. HELL NO.

Halberd is still WAY longer than it. Halberd's short length is 135, long 165. Bardiche is SHORTER THAN THE EXEC SWORD by default at 105 (exec is 110), with it's long mode being 140.

So not only are they flagrantly lying when it comes to range, they are making up wishfull ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for it's damage. And I say this as a guy who LOVES the bardiche as their most used polearm.

Yeah, I WISH the bardiche did "more damage than the exec sword". Bardiche still doesn't two hit kill vs full plate like the exec sword does (but people are too busy mewling it's thrust they never use got nerfed to appretiate keeping that.).

Again, Bardiche also only got "Now you can one shot bare legs like the exec sword!" if you read the fine print. If you assume it is even just "as good" you'll fail on your leg hits, because the bare leg buff is only for the alt mode. 90 is high, but not when you're fishing for "like the exec sword" damage.

No mistake. The bardiche will treat you right. But it's shameful to see people trying to use it as a strawperbole platform fishing for halberd and exec sword buffs.

I need to spend some more time with the pole axe now that they admitted it was overpriced. Though unsure how those "thrust release" changes will impact it given it was already "overweight longsword" in design (same length as the longsword. more thrust damage than it does slash damage.) But hoo boy pole axe still has some of the worst cosmetic options in the game.

people crying over the cost of new armor. When pole axe charges you 2,000 gold for "We tilted the default microscopic hammer head on the back by 45 degrees!", jesus ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ christ.

Billhook and Bardiche for me.

Hook is so cheap and with 2 passive abilities I honestly feel like it's a little bloated mechanic-wise (maybe give the dismount ability to the others too?)

Bardiche is an Ex with halberd reach. Can't go wrong.

I would say eveningstar just because of the damage. I think its a polearm just because you can couch with it and only polearms can be couched

Well the spear is still an amazing team fighting weapon, given tht it outranges every other weapon. It did get a slight buff to its damage, but a nerf to its release window. Still, in a team fight to spear lets you zip around and constantly thrust into unsuspecting enemies who cannot reach you. It also the best weapon for horseback fighting.

Not necessarily, I've heard the estoc can be couched. Haven't tested that yet though.
