Billhook, Poleaxe, Bardiche, or Halberd
Which should I use and why?

(P.S.: I'm aware of the billhook's special property where it can grapple horsemen.)

Billhook. Poleaxe is garbage.

Really depends on the kind of peripherals you want. Armor, perks, side items, etc.

Halberd is obviously the best but you become extremely limited on your armor and perk choices.

Bardiche deals a good bit of damage but doesn't have the range of the halberd.

Poleaxe has a pretty decent reach and damage but not quite as much as bardiche and halberd.

Billhook is surpisingly solid for the low 5 cost it has, but again is the weakest of the four.

I personally think the billhook has the best value ratio due to being a solid weapon at a 5 cost, but it is worth getting good with the halberd because even if you don't carry it in the load out lots of other people do so if somebody else drops one after dying you can pick it up and use it on a class that has more armor and perks.

I tend to bounce back and forth on low armor builds with the Billhook or Bardiche. The Halberd is obviously nice, but it's much too restrictive.

The Bill is a good utility weapon if you know how to use the pull versus push it offers, and it's basically a hard counter to dodge if you can get a hit.

The Bardiche is just great in general, especially now that they made it work like an Exe sword, but with more range.

The Halberd would be overpowered if it cost any less, and while it's fun essentially one shotting tier 2 armor, it's cost keeps it from being too good.

poleaxe for style. billhook for horses, bardiche for ballerina dancing, halberd for cleaning battlefields
Poleaxe is most versatile, bardiche is good for 1 shotting 0 armor legs
Edit to this, poleaxe is trash AF Billhook over poleaxe anyday.

Bardiche has a very weak thrust attack. It's why the poster above said it's good for ballerina dancing. Good damage on it so its a spin to win weap.

The entirety of a Frontline game essentially boils down to who can spin the best.

When you said FL I thought you were talking about florida man
billhook rulez
I just put serious effort into trying to use the poleaxe and I am flabbergasted by how BAD it is. How is it SHORTER than the estoc? How does a swing only do THIRTY-EIGHT damage to medium chest? How does it do a whopping FOURTY-NINE to heavy helms? It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ axe on a pole! At 6 points, the estoc and battleaxe outperform it by far. The longsword is an infinitely better option, being the exact same range and offering almost the same damage output with faster attacks and a lower price point. For being the weapon that was the absolute go-to for a certain period of combat, I can't imagine why they would make it so ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

As far as answering your question, bardiche is an absolute steal with how it is able to 1-shot a large amount of no/light armors (including naked legs). Also has a scary stab range with the alt-mode. The damage on it is low but it's good for baiting out parries. It's my go-to for polearms unless I really need a spear for horse combat (or just feel like playing it).
Halberd is of course the best polearm but you will be paying for how good it is.

The alt grip for bardiche is a clone of exesword

Halberd and poleaxe are OK. Not gr8 but not exactly bad either. Bardiche i've not much experience with but it's fairly good especially if your a chivalry ballerina. Same goes for the Billhook aswell, its pretty much OP. You can ballerina with it, its the best weapon against horses, it does meh damage, has pretty good/decent speed, and has quite high range for its low point cost.

Halberd is basically a spear on steroids. You get really good slashes, and the alt mode is basically the spear regular mode.

Poleaxe is basically just a stronger but slower version of the longsword, since it's exactly the same length.

Bardiche is one of my favorites. Both modes are awesome, and it's a formidable slashing weapon. Don't expect much from the stabs though.

Billhook is another favorite, being cheap and balanced, as well as versatile. The pushing and pulling on hits can really screw up peoples footwork.

I favor the bardiche and billhook over the poleaxe and halberd, but you may want to explore them. They are fantastic weapons still.
